I've lost the charger for my MN Mn90 Defender 90. The connection is SM-3P. I could get 2 batteries and 2 chargers for $26; or I could replace the connector with something I have, like an XT30.
However; there are 3 wires going from battery to connector, which is how many one would have for a balance plug. And how many one would need in order to balance a battery. So I think that this charger is charging and balancing the battery through that connector. This is not how my current chargers (eg Hitec X2) are working. They have a connection for the in-use connector, and one for the balance plug.

How would I wire this up to allow me to charge/balance and use the battery? I am thinking I have to splice in a balance plug into the 3 wires, and connect only the red and black wires to an XT30 connector.

The easiest thing to do would be to just buy batteries that already have the proper connectors. You can buy 4 packs of those batteries with various connectors on them already on Amazon. LINK
