Xr10 justock 17.5 or xr10 stock spec G2 17.5. well depending on the class. The vintage rules at my local track is 17.5 motors. Technically can run whatever motor you want but I would limit to 13.5 at max. Not sure how vintage gears can hold up with modern brushless power but I guess they handle it pretty well considering that vintage is on the rise. Also considering you don't wanna break the bank the HW justock systems should be perfectly fine for a vintage buggy. Although you might wanna gear up on the pinion as they could be a bit sluggish as being fixed timing motors. (I know mine is a modern 22 5.0 but I run a HW 10bl120 sensored esc with the latest G4R 17.5 HW motor and it's pretty quick and dialed if you ask me)

@Suburban_Hooligan is one of maybe vintage gear heads on here maybe he can pop in 😉

The first step would be to find out what rules are for the class you want to run in. There are different tiers of electronics. Without knowing anything else about your situation the first place I would look for a middle of the road type of price tag combo... HERE.

hmmm... iv never run a HW esc. i do have 2 HW motors, but ones a 21.5 and ones a 3800kv 4 pole. and my XXXT is brushed. so I'm dancing all around this but probably can't answer 💩

the most powerful set up iv put in a vintage car was a 3800kv 4 pole on 2s (it didn't stay that way, it was just for testing). i can say that yes vintage gears can take brushless/lipo power. as long as the slipper is adjusted properly it's fine. (at least AE's Stealth boxes anyway)
