So what happened to the motor???
Its old. Had it soldered back up (battery leads, esc rx wire, on/off switch) multiple times and wires got shorter and the end they started to pull and yea. Motor is 2 1/2 years old. Its seen some stuff lol.

The surpass hobbies esc/motor (separate) was working fine, it was just that I had to modify the side rails to get a receiver to fit and the esc doesn't have a set button to do calibration to my new flysky or futaba.

Much more simple to do a 2in1 on smaller cars. That is esc/motors.
2in1 esc/receivers are the worse since you can't put your own transmitter to it unless the radiomaster mt12 can do it.

New body painted up, didn't turn out that good tho. Runny paint along with my masks peeling up, ugh. Its Horizon products what to we expect from them lol. But hey atleast it isn't that melted like that poor ugly body I had for the B74 last year lol.

They call this a 50/50 paint job...

If its going 50mph, away from your view, from 50 yards, it looks almost perfect!!!
🤣

Painting isn't easy even in ideal conditions... considering your temp and paint issues, it came out ok!
Def good enough to bang up on a race track!!! 😍

Got receiver in. Waiting for battery adapters which will be coming in tomorrow. After ill recalibrate esc, bind up the rx with my 3PV, just have to note I have to switch it to SFHSS mode before hand. Set the trims and EPAs and should be good to go! Might have to take out the servo at the track to recenter the horn but hopefully not lol.

Adapters just came in! Ill route the wires differently as it makes the back left part of the body pop up but not that much. Got the classic spektrum jingle at power up now! Lol. I can already tell the old dynamite is way more smoother at lower throttle inputs than the spektrum but I just needed something to get it running since I'm not really racing it anymore.

Figured that Ill update this thread, as I've been heavily into mini's the couple past few day. Nothing has changed electronics wise but I have raced it a few (twice) times a couple months ago at the clay track some footage here: Enjoy!

Running worn down almost donezo Jcon ellipse rears and worn down stock bar tires on the front. Prepped them more the other day and last weekend at the track they were alot better on the clay track than a couple months ago in these videos so its pretty gripped up now. Still running same electronic setup as follows:
Spektrum 2in1
Futaba 3PV/Offbrand receiver
savox sh0255mgp servo
Urgenex 1100mah lipos (2 years old, still amazing IR charging at 3C!!!)

The KingVal combo you see earlier in this thread I still have as spare. Put it up for sale but no one really wants it so I kept it. I plan on putting that esc in my Reflex rental truck, if the Mini B class appears back up, ill get a replacement esc for it but sticking with the 2in1 for being simplistic.

Update.
Those BK bar tires now look like this, by running them in the street, doing some burnouts and after 1 6minute track practice session. Now the car is dialed on clay, better than the slick-ified Ellipses that would spin out in every corner.

Seems like there's still no official Mini/Mini B open/mod class wanting to be raced locally both clay and carpet, even tho this car shines on carpet so no real updates car/maintenance/upgrades wise.
Although I do want to talk about carpet tires

Current setup is ProLine Prism rears, wedge fronts, had the same set for 3 years.
Dont have tons of track time with the car since no one wants to race it but I keep it because its super fun on the track.
But last year when I ran office carpet, it was pretty decent on traction. Earlier this year when I took some footage of it on black crc it was hooked up, but next few times I raced on carpet the car seems to not hook up. Like I would turn but you need to slow down really good to turn, or it would turn into the corner only if you turn the wheel 2 seconds before it. Wear: Fronts look new obviously since they're not driven. But rears, still look ok, if the camera does it justice. Always had been eyeing getting a new set of Mini Fuzz bites f/r since I know it would work as FB's are tested and proven in 1/10. But, wear if my major concern about them. Want something that would last as this is a spare/for fun class if I were to race. But, fuzz bite rears had been on back order for months now so should I just get new PL Prisms for the rear? 🤔

Tires now:

Tires when they were new:

Looking up close the rears the pins aren't as pointy as they were so I guess they are the rears. Tires are so small can't even tell by my eye.
