I have a Losi Aftershock and would like to hop it up a little. I am happy with the steering and suspension, just would like to get more speed and power out of it. I still have the stock pipe on it and know a aftermarket tuned one will help just am wondering what else I could do in order to chase down some of those truggies!

Thanks for you help!

I would even consider an upgraded engine. Any recomendations? Truly not wanting to break the bank on this just a hobby.

LRP .28 spec 3, Jammin JP-3 pipe. roll cage. Proline series 40 wheels/tires with larger hex adapters.

The losi HT pipe is a great pipe and can usually be found on ebay for $25 or so shipped.
Swapping the wheels/tires out for some smaller/lighter ones will make it much more responsive. Then you will either need to do the gear flip mod or get the +1 CB that losi sells.

Those tires are power suckers. Lots of rotational mass.

With t-maxx 2.5 chevrons on mine with the gear flip mod, I could run neck and neck with an LST2.

If you get a better engine, you may need to upgrade the two speed assembly to LST/LST2 version or you will have issues due to how weak the AS version is.

The losi mach 427 gold head (stock LST2 engine) is a pretty good bang for your buck engine. The Losi 427 green/grey head has a bit more pep than the gold head version as well.

Or you can go nuts and get a LRP28S3, LRP30S2 or a picco 28... but then you would definitely need to upgrade the two speed assembly.

Replaceing the stock clutch shoes/springs with HPI teflon savage shoes/springs will make a world of difference off the line. They engage earlier which makes it easier to finesse the truck around.

Yea, forgot about upgrading the clutch. That will help a LOT.

I'm with Olds, the Losi HT Tuned Pipe(LOSB5059) will help a bunch, that's what I have stock on my LST2. Also, Losi Aluminum Clutch shoes(LOSB3323) or the Dynamite Max-Life Aluminum Clutch shoes(DYNP5180), which is what I have, will help a great deal.:D I have a Brand New(in box, never used)Dynamite Mach 427(gold/orange head) if your interested.;) But the M26ss is a Big Block too and if done up right, you should have no problems as I have one of those as well......also a good/descent glow plug, like a Mccoy #8, #9 or #59 will help !!!! The stock Turbo glow plug that comes with the M26ss isn't that good, I don't think, in my opinion.
