I just got a xxx speed nt 3.4cc engine in the process of converting to graphite arms and aluminum mounting but i can get a good setup for it yet if anyone has any for outdoor rough high bite dry surface or some thing similar it would be cool

I'd stay away from graphite arms as they are very brittle and shatter with very little impact. I'd also get an RPM bumper for it. I read the review in XRC on that thing, and they said the arms were pretty flexy. I could see how that could cause an issue for tight handling, but trust me, graphite's plain stink for a basher. Especially with as fast as that thing is. One little tumble and your arms will shatter.

I had an old XXX-NT RTR as my first RC. Fuel tank was prone to cracking and never figured out a fix. Snapped many arms and many towers, but it was a decent little rig. Just wouldn't have recommended it as a basher (which is all I do). Pesky hobby shop guys...

Thanx

Thanx for the insight on graphite .. so would your recomend like kevlar slipper gear ? and just plain plastic arms or should i just say hell with it and go aluminum?

I wouldn't run aluminum for arms since the stock ones are pretty flexible (according to XRC). I'd use aluminum for the pivot blocks on the front/rear where the inside arm pins attach to the truck.. Definitely there rear if it's still made like the XXX-NT was.

EDIT:
Looks like they use the same parts as the older rigs for the pivot blocks. Not sure who makes an alloy replacement, but it will definitely be needed on the rear. I busted that thing all the time too until I got an alloy one.

So far, the only rear one I found is the trinity one like I had years ago:

Sorry, couldn't say. I never ran anything but stock on my old rig. You have to remember though, it was my first and that was before I knew about forums like this place. And I never ordered anything online, so I was only able to get what my LHS had.

Man... I was green then!
