Lookin to upgrade traxxas 4x4 slash motor & esc suggestions? Want more speed / power . Nothing to crazy price wise.

castle sidewinder SCT I run it in my Rustler 4x4 plenty of power

That's not much of an upgrade over stock. Not a bad system and a bit better than stock though.

I'd go with a HW max10 sct esc and a hobbystar 3670/3674 if you can find one that has 2400kv-3200kv. A 2200kv would do ok on 3S, you would need to gear it up quite a bit though compared to stock. Even the 3665 3100kv is a decent motor, but if you can find a longer one, you will get more torque out of it.

Found a 2500kv 3670 on ebay:

I ran a max10 sct with a hobbystar 3665 3100kv in my stampede for a while, it did better than stock or the castle sct sv3/3800kv combo. The esc has a better BEC in it (get the program box for $10) and the motor ran ok on 3S until I geared it high and ran through a lot of taller grass. Then things got hot. I did have a cooler on the motor.

When I installed a slash chassis, I went with a 1/8th system (BLX185 esc/blx2050kv 4074 motor) and now run 4S in the thing. lol!

Castle Creations Copperhead 3200kv. It is sensored capable and takes up to 4s, and from what I've heard, they run pretty cool (the Copperhead ESC also has a pretty strong BEC). I have Castle's 3800kv motor, and I have to say Castle motors are as smooth as butter and have great low-speed startups (even unsensored). The 3800kv motor also runs very cool on my Slash 2wd. I have the Hobbywing XR8 (sensored) 3660 4300kv in my Slash 4x4, and it's ok, but it does not have enough torque for my liking, runs warmer than I'd like it to and takes only 2s.

Edit: I've also threw in the Castle 3800kv motor in my Slash 4x4 (12/54 gearing, VXL diff ratio), and though it feels punchy and torquey, it runs a bit hot, even on 2s, so I suggest going with a lower kv (you should be fine if you had the brushed system stock since the diffs have a lower gear ratio).

How is the torque with the max10 ? Rather have more torque then higher max speed . Or can I tweak
That with the gearing ⚙? I'm new to the hobby & recently acquired a lot of rc trucks, cars , and crawlers oh and a drift car lol . It gets kinds overwhelming when I don't really know what parts will help most with what I'm trying to do with it .

I'm assuming you pick your power plant the go to battery choice after? Suggestions on battery companies as well ?

Do you guys know anything about crawlers and drift cars ?

SMC LiPos are pretty good: https://www.smc-racing.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=641
There are a bunch of other cheap LiPos on Amazon that seem to have good reviews (it's also prime day, so some are discounted): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08XQJ94N8/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?smid=AX7EGURF2FSIY&psc=1

Yes, I do. What's your question?

Any of those set ups mentioned earlier will be good for a 4wd SCT.

Whats your drift car question? I'm no expert but I've started looking in to it as I want to build a drift car myself.

What would be a good price performance esc motor combo that out performs stock slash ultimate 12 years old and motor and esc run very very hot thinking they will die this summer so wondering what would be a good combo that would out perform it ie better top speed on a 2s 50c 5200mah lipo and run cooler looking at the https://www.amainhobbies.com/castle...d-combo-w-1412-3200kv-cse010-0166-09/p1308931 combo and the https://www.amainhobbies.com/hobbyw...3660sl-motor-combo-3200kv-hwa38010200/p607213 conbo are they good is there better stuff would they outperform stock vxl config?

Looks like a couple winners there with proper gearing. Is the stock motor a 3500kv?

I have no idea posted this question on the discord server and got recommended the castle creations copperhead combo

I have two questions what’s the real world difference between a 35c 5200mah lipo and a 50c 5200mah lipo I understand it’s a difference in max amp output but what’s the real world difference

And what would be the top speed of the castle system

You definitely don't want to run a LiPo with less than 60C on either of those setups. I would stay above 100C personally. If the C is too low, you won't be able to deliver enough power to the ESC and you will have voltage drops, and can overheat and damage the battery.

It's the same principle on a 1:1 drag car. If you can't deliver enough fuel, you're going to have a lean condition, and probably damage stuff.

Wherever the weakest link is, it's going to fail. So don't put any weak links in your electronics setup.

Hol up so these things can pull over 500 amps the 50c lipo I was thinking about using has a burst output of 100c so looks like it’s time for new lipos lol, is the opposite true where you don’t want to have a to high c for a smaller system or does that not matter
Also what would be a good 2s lipo brand that has good lipid to run with this setup

You can't have too much C. The more the better. CNHL makes good batteries. So does SMC, but the SMC are a lot higher pricetag.

With higher C batteries you may notice a higher punch when you give it throttle.
