I"m looking to buy a 1/8 nitro buggy, 300-600.00 price range.

what do you guys suggest as the best buggy to get. I'm new to this and would really appreciate as much info as possible.

Do u want a kit to build or RTR. Are u bashing or racing?

go ofna pbs or the pcr you can't go wrong. i own the pcr and have bashed it beyond hard and have not broke a thing yet...

Look, I'm pretty new with the world of Nitro RC. I purchased a PRP Swift buggy [ http://www.happytimehobby.com/cars/swift/nitrochallenge1.jpg ] and have had a ton of fun with VERY minimal headache. Granted it's not a top of the line car, but you get a hell of a lot of bang for your buck, and a nice radio. In fact, if you already have a radio, they even offer the RTR without a radio for 350ish. You can read the Swift thread for a ton of great information about exactly what you're getting into if you go with this solid car.

The ofna hyper 7 pcr or pbs are both great buggies! Go to www.ulitmatehobbies.com they have the best price on the pcr edition. It is advertized as the pbs edition but its an upgraded kit. What i actually recomment is calling them because they have it on sale for 433, and on the site they have it for 479. If you have any questions or concerns pm me and i'll be glad to help you in anyway that i can.

I have the pbs and it rocks, runs out real nice once you get it broken in. The only problem I have had so far was the weak starter box that came with it. That box couldn't turn over a beattle that was on its back, so I bought a 12v Ofna box and that did the trick. The pcr is the same buggy with some up grades and a pull start. Hope that helps out.

okay dude, this is what i would do if you want a RTR. I would get a OFNA hyper 7 PCR RTR, Then throw out that gay steering servo and get a high torque one. Then if you have a little money left over , search for either an O.S carb for the hyper 8 port , or a new tuned pipe. That will be a more than better beginner buggy. Good luck!

The ofna is a lot better buggy. The kyosho sports buggy if probaly one of the worst buggys on the market. Its parts are made from very weak plastic. The mp 7.5 kits are very good buggys but the sports is not good.Go with the ofna and you will be happy.

imo you would be better off with the hyper pcr. it comes with a starter box, glo egniter. The only thing yo uneed is fuel and batteries. And if you call ultimate hobbies they hav eit for 433 and they also have free shipping. its your choise man but this is one hell of a buggy and pretty much ready to race out of the box.

the pcr has laydown servos and the pbs has them regular. I think that is the only difference but i'm not too sure on that

I have the pbs and zandor has the pcr, the only dif we know of is that the servos are different and his pcr came with the pull start and starter box which he never used. If you read my post afew up you will see why he never used it, and because of the starter box issue I would get the pcr for the pull start unless you want to drop an extra $60 to $70 for a better box, I did and am happy with it. I just need to wait for zandor to get his tuned so he can keep up, lol (hey zandor old buddy).

Well guys after you get the thing running once the starter box that is supplied with the pcr will start the buggy nice and easy. So if you know somebody or your lhs will start it and help you out for the first time (like mine did) the starter box you get with the kit will be fine.
