Running a 4s 14.8 lipo on a hobbywing 2700kv sc8 es8 on my buggy. First time experimenting wit electric and love it so far but, I'm only getting bout 10 min run time and I reckon my esc is shutting down due to low voltage. When I put it on the charger though its still reading 14.1v is that correct? Also noticed the temp is around 160 when this is occuring. Is it temps or low voltage or is this normal? Any suggestion appreciated.

Thermal shutdown. 160 is hot on the esc. 14.1v you still have plenty to go. Time to change up your gearing.

Thats probably why its pulling wheelies on my straights geared too low, 14 cb. So when its discharged does the buggy completely just stop? Also noticed today that the pack was warm when I bought it in, is that normal?

Yeah when one thing gets worm the rest tend to also, motor, esc and lipo. Just getting the gearing right so it will run steady can be tricky but once its right you will be able to run full packs back to back without thermal shutdown usually. Obviously heat outside makes a huge difference. Was 112* here today, I wouldnt even mess with running a rc in heat like that.

It was like 85 degrees here in NC but that dnt compare to 112, omg thats HOT. Does going to 3s change anything as far as temps, think the guy I bought it from of ebay was running 4s due to the size of the straps on it and the body wont go over the 4s I'm running so I have a 3s venom coming Weds.

Thermal shutdown. 160 hot in esc its too much hot . 14.1V is still much to be done. Time to change your leverage.
