can i run a lipo on a regular moter-meaning not a brushless ? I've talked myself into buying a slash and was just looking for longer runtimes. just trying to have fun with the hobby without spending close to a grand.

you can run a 2s lipo on the stock traxxas elects. just be sure to watch your battery level so you dont over discharge the lipo. the traxxas stuff offers NO lipo warning or shut off switch. the shut novak makes wont work with the newest traxxas esc, the xl-5, but they (novak) are trying to solve this incompatiability.

watch your batts voltage level and you ll be fine.

2s will be fine on the stock esc and here is a low votage cutoff for your Slash. You can get a good brushless setup for about 130.00.
