Dean Plugs seem like all the craze. I'm looking to purchase some LIPO packs for my new Trinity Now and most of the ones I'm looking at dont come with connectors. How do I change my connectors, I remember in the old days I would cut the wire, joint them together and put a plastic tube on top and hair dry the area so it seals. WHAT DO WE DO IN THE MODERN AGE-TODAY?

Very important….do not cut both wires at the same time. If your pack came with no connector and the ends are covered in shrink wrap, do not remove both shrink wraps. You will short the pack if the exposed wires touch each other even for an instant.

Expose one wire at a time and make the connection to your plug. Cover the connection with shrink wrap before you even think about exposing the other wire.

Other than those simple guidelines, attaching a new connector is the same as with other packs.

Here is a good how-to on Dean's plugs. Remember, do not cut or expose both wires even though they do in the how-to.

Those are commonly called "Tamiya" style plugs; I would highly recommend going with the Deans plugs. I use them, and they are a lot more reliable and solidly made than the tamiya's.

I've seen that some of the lhs have a jumper made for the Tamiya to Dean's style connector. I think I ended up building one for my Superbrain 989. Also, DO NOT CUT BOTH BATTERY WIRES AT THE SAME TIME! LiPos tend to explode when shorted and we hate to lose members!

Thanks Hamz9561, why dont u send me those dean's style connectors you made for your superbrain-it will be a nice gift? I could really use them :)
