One of my lipo batteries is puffing up. Why is this happening, I'm useing a traxxas ez peak plus charger and 3s 4000mah 11.1 v traxxas power cell batteries

What type of ESC are you running it with? Do you have LVC (low voltage cutoff) enabled on the ESC? You can ruin a brand new pack by severely over discharging it.

also, improper handling, charging at too high of a rate, heat, even improper gearing/too much draw off of it can hurt it. many factors. Thats why most manufactures advise to not use them under the age of 16 without supervision.

I'm using it in my brushless e revo 1 10 and I don't think I've got a cutoff. If I do I don't know how to turn it on

Is it running the factory Mamba Monster system? Did you read the owners manual? LVC is supposedly set up by default, but you can activate it if not following the steps in the manual. It would probably be a good investment to buy a Castle Link for making future changes as well.

Ok but my dad is getting red of it and getting new ones

Getting new what? Revos? Packs? Also, you didn't answer my question, did you guys read the instruction manuals included with your new toy?

Yep........ says it right there.

I guess if he would have read to begin with they might not have puffed. But hey, Lipo fires are super cool to watch anyway.

^^Until they burn down your house while your charging them next to your pile of stuffed teddy bears :hehe:

Ok if hes an experienced rc driver, I'm a rc guru. lmao. Come on buddy you got tor read the manuals with these things. They are not toys. Before charging, installing, our even buying a Lipo battery you should have known everything about them. Go back and read all your manuals, its best for you and your safety.

I've been reading the manual about them about a thousand times

You need to read up on some lipo threads here buddy, lots of useful info.

Heres what happens if you dont fully understand the nature of these batteries.

You also want to make sure you dispose of the Lipo properly too so it doesn't catch fire in your trashcan or in the trans truck/landfil/whatever.
