You're right! It is cheaper there

The 2R version has the CF bits, guards and such. The 2 version doesn't.

Well, I wanted to do this thing by scratch, but I may have to go the kit route...😕
A kit will give you all the parts you need, don't waste the time hoping you got compatible parts, spend the time building the thing knowing you have the right parts, all in one box. The LC racing instructions were a lot like Tekno instructions. I was blown away.
Whatever car you decide on, I would go kit route rather than piece it together.

Yeah I'm realizing that is the smarter route. It seems there are A LOT more RC parts than I recall when I built my last RC10 kit back in HS.
Times have changed 😂

I live vicariously through folks with more play money than me, remember ? 😆

I actually was influenced by your builds on that LC chassis, and plan to get one some day. But it's a bit on the back burner for now. But @Littlemotor and I have been dIscussing LCR a bit here and there as well, and it has been bringing it farther up the wishlist.

Oh for sure. I am ABSOLUTELY grabbing a pair of EMB-T Pro kits for the Mrs., and myself. She wants one BADLY after witnessing my current 1/12 build thread mayhem.. Those little guys are a definite MUST (ESPECIALLY knowing now that my de-anodizing skills are up to snuff, because that freakin Rojo all over everything on them is OUTTA here!!!! 🤮) -Plus the new Tekno EB2.2 buggies, and we will be full over here for a good while..😅

Something I have never looked at a whole lot before.... I almost would prefer the PTG without the carbon shock towers. It looks like the cheaper kit has aluminum shock towers or are those like a 3mm thick plastic?

The advertising is also a terrible translation.

The red is ugly, but I just leave it alone. I know you can't 😁 but, if you wipe that stuff clean, I may try it as well.

I believe they're plastic on the kit, but I think you can get aluminum ones.

Go peep my current build thread homie.. The 1/12 Jammin’ CRT.5… I de-anodized some SUPER high quality ano, and had TREMENDOUS, results with EASE.. 🤩

About 6 bucks, 1hr total including prep, and clean up, and VERY little mess..

I would prefer aluminum on a car like that. I have never had a car with carbon fiber towers, so I really don't know how they hold up. This isn't a car that's going to do backflips, but it may see some rollover and hard landings. I am just questioning durability at this point.

I want it for off road, probably not it's intended purpose, so id prefer aluminum as well

If they’re a SMALL part, CF is pretty daamned strong imo.. I wouldn’t run CF towers on ANY of my 1/8 stuff, but plenty of folks do.. My 1/12, and under stuff? I absolutely will, and won’t lose a wink of sleep over it. And if I break one, I’ll buy another CF part for what-$15 if even that? The option parts for those little LC Racing guys are silly inexpensive imo..🤩

Oh, it's probably made for dirt/off road. It is a rally car. If you get a 1/10 I bet, you will end up wanting a 1/14 too 😅

From the edge profiles, I would say those are carbon. But it's not a great pic. It may even be a unidirectional carbon at that, which could be what makes it look like plastic. If that is the case, that is some REALLY strong stuff. The Predator Drone gimbal housings are made out of it, and it does not bend in any direction. I used to have pieces of it to show people how strong the stuff is.

All I can say is look into CRC. I just bought a "used" one from the local track. Came with a ton of spares and servo. Can't wait to send it. And by that I mean to drive it flat out. And hopefully reach its potential. Still working on esc and motor battery equation. But yeah Should be a metric ton of fun!

Yea, true. I still want slightly bigger tires, if possible.
Now i keep debating 1/10 or 1/12. I know that changes the kit entirely. 1/10 is the biggest scale I'd go, my Blazer/Rovair is just BIG. the details you can put on 1/10 are really nice though. So 1/10 may bet hd ultimate answer 🤔
