how many total sets do you have? and how often are you buying new tires
These two batches I’m doing of buggy, and truggy total 27 sets. I’ve got (3) truggs, and (2) bugs atm, and two more e-buggies coming shortly.. in the neighborhood of 50 total including what’s being replaced. I’ll gather them as I see some I know I’ll need when they’re a good deal, and typically rotate some out, and some in.. I just happen to be doing an absurd amount this go ‘round, as I added a vehicle or two, to the stable, and knew I had two more coming very soon.
I run on a mixed bag of surfaces on a handful of private backyard tracks, so I have what I feel covers multiple vehicles, and under multiple conditions. I have a few double sets, as I have a few double vehicles, and some nitro, and brushless versions of the same. Typically what works well for a specific surface, and condition that day on that truck, will work well on one or two more I’m running.
Like I said-I gather them over time as I foresee needing them, and the RC slush fund allows. It just so happened that I ended up doing a mass punch, clean, prep, mount, glue, and balance all at once this time.. I knew I’d be doing “yearly” maintenance, and a couple rebuilds, as well as a new build or two, so I just ended up with a LOT of stuff being completed together. Not USUALLY this busy on RC stuff..

That being said……The buggy batch is wrapped up, and ready to rock..
That’s a decent amount of weight as you can see.. Just under 3oz of weight over (12) sets..
Out of 48 total wheel/tire assemblies; TWO took zero weight. One was a JConcepts Dirt Bite aqua (A2) on a Promotion wheel, and the other was a TZO 202 soft on a TZO wheel.
The worst were some GRP Cubic’s on DE Speedline’s, and some VP Pro Turbo Trax Evo’s that I ordered in Soft, but showed up HARD AF, and the set of ProMotion dished wheels they went on actually had (2) with quite a bit of high/low runout.. Sure seems like the hole is off center.. So those were super fun, and took a decent amount of weight… Still won’t make ‘em ROUND though..
Not too awful bad overall. The GRP’s were to be expected, but the ProMotion wheels being off center was not typical for those at all.. Ya win some-ya lose some..
Truggy next, and donezo finally… althoughhhhhh-there is a distinct possibility I’ll be grabbing (4) more specific sets for the new buggy in particular.. I know-I need my head examined…
