I'm not new to nitro or brushless electric, but I am new to 3.5 turn.
I saw a 3.5 turn run in an ME 16TC and scary fast although uncontrollable in that chassis.
So I thought I'd be smart and put a 3.5 Novak Velociti system in my Traxxas Bandit. It already had front Rustler tyres on the rear, and I geared her down to a 23 tooth pinion but left the 76 tooth spur.
First run, speed like I never saw before and wheelie at half throttle.
Next run stood up at 3/4, peeled a tyre off the foam and while I was laughing smoke started pouring out from under the body.
I had fried the capacitor. About 30 seconds of runtime, I am up for new capacitor, two new tyres, larger spur (86) and smaller pinion. (19)
Should have done it right in the first place, but WOW.... :surrender

man that's a huge motor. I'm glad to hear you like the sick power. I'm new to electric and I just ordered a CC Sidewinder brushless system for my RC10T4. It's nothing like what you have, but should be pretty powerful. I will run the 4600 for a while until I get very comfortable and consistent with my lap times, and then I can drop in the 5700 motor if I want.

Congratulations on the wonderful setup, glad to here that it worked out for you so well.

You won't need to buy a 5700, just a different battery! The 4600 on a 3s lipo will have more power than a 5700 on a 2s lipo.

Well you are defitnitly going to need a new compaciter and as far as gearing goes did you even check the manual for a recomended spur/pinion combo it sounds like you are geared way to high , also make sure to check your motor and esc temps if you can't hold your finger on on your motor for like 5 to 10 seconds its way to hot and it sounds like you are going to need some new tires good luck and have fun...

Yeah I did read the gearing recommendations, but you know you have to push to see what you can get. If everyone has the same, then no one has anything. The gearing was high, but having Rustler tyres on the back was a huge no-no.
doesn't matter, have a new capacitor, just waiting to put it on.
