Kyosho Optima Mid build project

Could resist....

Started cutting the body and glueing the tires.

but dunno yet what I am gonna go as color scheme....
Did order some Tamiya PS-5 black paint, should contrast nicely with the white wheels.

Yesterday just ordered some optional (but expensive) metal Kyosho hop up parts:
- OTW117GMB: rear hub carriers
- OTW116GMB: front hub carriers
- OTW135: stabilizer set
- OTW140: aluminium gear
- OTW143: steering bridge
- OTW144: dunno what its exactly called, part of the chassis brace
- OTW145: rear Suspension Holder
- OTW146: Servo Mount Aluminium
- OT252BK: black spoiler

Electronics, exactly the same as for my recently build Scorpion Turbo:

Hobbywing MAX10 combo kit with 3300kv motor.
AVC spektrum receiver
Savöx SC-1267SG: @7.4V = 0.09s & 21kg

Will finish the shocks and think about the body paint scheme, but wont start building the actual car/chassis as it seems that the diffs are the starting point of the entire build....

Meanwhile had an idea of how the body should look and got busy...

satisfied with the black accents

Not so with the with accent at the rear...guess I'll have to wait and see how that turns out when its finished with all the decals coming..

Its actually the first time I taped the inside of an RC body for paint..

Kinda annoying, but my white paint ran empty...monday a new can should arrive

and a new package from my trusted German Kyosho supplier I can say now haha

So yeah, just basically waiting for the ball diffs to come in stock

Build progress, only body actually, and new decals

Also tested the new electronics already (identical as used for my Scorpion Turbo)

these new decals really finish the body and give it a scale realistic look imo

I hope it doesn't take long for the ball diffs to arrive, they were postponed again, somewhere in december again...
Of course I wont be ripping with this body, the 'bashody' will have similar body colors, with a lot less decals.

Keep us posted. Sucks waiting on parts. My Beetle build took me over a year to gather everything.
