Awesome out of the box rig! When you look at the features and the way it is built you are like wow! Crawls very well, slow speed control is impressive and the suspension works well. Goes places on the rock pile other rigs this size struggle with. Also has enough speed to run trails and the battery life on the first pack was very good (25 mins or more).
But with sticky tires and brushless torque comes tragedy…before the first pack gasp it’s last breath I was trying to get up a crack and blew the universal out of the rear yoke on the diff. Found the yoke and shaft and went to the bench to see what could be done. Removed yoke from diff, managed to reinstall universal joint into yoke and reinstalled. Dropped a lower rear link to get some room to pop the shaft back into the slip, to females, what the heck? Look at the parts diagram and see there is a small intermediate shaft that rides between the 2, no luck finding it though. Parts ordered, new rig sidelined for the week, not the first time though, had the same luck with the Typhon.
If you get one you might want to order an extra driveshaft Kit, I ordered 2.

I had some issues with the transmission gears.

Yeah, I had read your post prior to purchase. When you raise the power you find the weak spots. It turns out I had the right rear wheel trapped and did not realize it prior to hitting the throttle, all it took.

@Guest D you may be right on the plastic tranny case flexing under the torque and letting the mesh get sloppy. Any trans issues and I will build one in the metal case. Planning on sticking with the plastic driveshafts as my powertrain “ fuse” for now as they are cheap and easy to replace.

Metal case is only for the two speed.

Me too, smooth and capable. Guess I will stick with the original tranny case then. Really appreciate the counter rotating drive shaft, minimizes torque twist on the chassis.
