So I picked up a Hobbyplus cr-18p pro juice up edition a few weeks ago. I've been out of the hobby for quite some time (over 20 years) and wanted to try a brushless setup. This seemed to be a inexpensive way to get the setup and in a capable rig. This thing is a hell'a fun to drive. But I broke three teeth off of this gear circled.

I ordered a new set of gears from HP on their website......I hope....the part #'s don't match the paper manual that came from the box. But it matches what is on their website. So I'm guessing with the new version crawler the old or somewhat updated paper manual, something isn't finished with the change. Hopefully that's all that is.

But my question is does anyone have experience with the aluminum transmission body they sell? I'm wondering if that is usable for the single speed transmission? There isn't a lot of plastic where the bushings seat. It's very thin. I know it broke because there was too much traction and too much throttle. But wonder if the case flexes too much also. Maybe there's deflection in the gears and they bind to a point.

Thanks for your input in advance.

No one has the aluminum housing?

Is this what you are after? Aluminum Case Says it is good on the Juice Up as well as the CR18 P
Yes, that is what I'm talking about. And it does say that but there was a two speed transmission previously. This year it went to a single speed. I called heli direct and was on hold for a bit then it prompted me to leave a message and they would get back to me. Still waiting to hear back.

Just got off the phone with Heli Direct. That aluminum transmission is a two speed and not compatible with the new single speed.

Well poop! they really need to clarify that on their website. Good thing you checked.

Do you have the single speed, or the two?

Broke again. I gotta tear into it to see if it's the same gear. But that's why I got a couple sets. Just in case.

So, not the same gear, but the one that meshed against the original one that broke. It could have been compromised like a loose tooth from the first break. But it still makes me wonder about that case flexing and causing an issue. Everything has a "point of failure" Kinda wish a driveshaft was the weak point though. Or a shear pin in the shaft. It would be much easier to replace.

All back up and running again :thumbs-up:

Well all fixed again......for now.

This is trippin' me out, I haven't had any problems and can't figure out why yours is being so difficult. Sorry it's giving you trouble. :(
I'm gonna open it up later and see if I can figure out why it clicks in reverse.

On another more positive note...my other endoro 24's are out for delivery.

I figured out the click.

That little piece. Cleaned it all out and put some fresh grease in there now.
