This is super cool 👍
I used to sit in the library when I was in elementary school reading model railroad magazines. Dreaming of the day I could build a magnificent layout like the one you got going. So.. I’ll just live vicariously thru you as I follow along. Because I’ll never get around to it..

Ps, your gonna be a full fledged Carpenter by the time your done. 😉
Good Lord I hope not, that would drastically turn into a job and I DON"T WANT A JOB. :D

This is a pretty good site, it is not a forum, just a dude named Eric. If you like model trains and building layouts and beyond this is a pretty cool site. Go to his video tab and under Layout updates start with the "Tour of my layout Part 1 2008". This guy did a great job too.

Here's a start...
Keep in mind, I still have to go back over the ballast and clean up everywhere I stuck my arm in wet ballast..

My 5 year old little monster came over and played with Papa all day. She is my world and she had an absolute blast building trees, planting the trees, and some painting.
We also raced up and down the hallway with the 24s. She cheated though. I swear I won...

Yes, there is Kev, it's completely open in the back. The light switch is right behind it.
In another corner there will be another mountain with a tunnel and I have it cut out in the middle already because I couldn't reach the track when I installed it.

There is still some ground cover I want to put down on this one. Plus, I'll make it a popular rock-climbing area.;)
I've always wanted to do a hang gliding scene and I might do that in another corner of the layout. The last layout I had, I hung some Cessna's from the ceiling with thin fishing line and it looked pretty cool.

Thanks @WideOpen , I saved it and will have a look around. It would be cool if I had room for O scale.
shoot - I wish I had room for an N Scale layout that I could keep up and build upon. RxR and Slots take up so much room, but they are so cool.

Sweet Tuned, really great work. do you have a basement you are setting up in? We don't get basements in Oklahoma, too many tornado's...

You have got me bitten by the fever again. I have a handful of HO and a small N scale set up. However, yesterday I went out and bought (for N) another 15 cars and some track; and today I bought more track and one more car.

No basement, I have a 16 x 10 room I think it is. Plenty of room for N scale. I had HO scale set up a few years ago but ran out of room and also got bored with it. My HO stuff is DCC, this one is just DC but fun.

Yes, this is N scale. I'm glad to see you get back into it. Summer time the wife and I are usually out kayak fishing, camping and running RCs so this is my winter project for now on.;)
I added a bit more ground cover tonight and as soon as my rock molds come in, I'll add a bunch more to this section.

So, what are these rock molds? My wife was going to have her and my grandson build tunnels out of paper mache
