I gave the Angel away to my machinist buddy of mine. He does a ton of work for me for free on all of my paintball markers over the years and also a few things like straightening shock shafts on my rc's for free also. He earned the Angel in my book.

Ya really I wanted to get into that paintball scene but its expensive for the CO2 ,paintballs and the armor stuff is expensive.

Hey man No dissing Mirra..He and Ryan Nyquist rule all..Hey man the First Haro is a racing bike.

And nitro isn't?

At least welts heal.

Paintball can be more or less just as expensive as RC. I'm my case paintball is probably more expensive than RC. Just like in organized sports games there are positions on the paintball field for serious team tournaments. I was a back player which meant I pretty much stayed on the trigger the entire game with covering fire while my mid and front players worked into angles to shoot out the other team's players. I walked onto the field each and every game with anout 1500 paintballs and was fully prepared and did quite frequently blow that entire amount in a single 5 minute game.

The last BMX bike I owned was a black GT Pro Performer and a Mongoose. I still have both collecting dust in my parents garage. I just didint seem to fit on them any more. Once I hit 6 foot they were no longer comfortable to ride.

The BMX bikes I've seen these days seem to be alot bigger.

So If I wanted to get a pair of decent paintball guns (full kit) what would be a good brand/model and how much would I expect to pay?

As a rule of thumb which is the same for DR, the more you pay the better it is. You can get an excellent tourney grade marker, notice I said marker not gun, and everything you need (air tank loader) for about $600. You'll also need guppies (the thingys your store the balls in while on the field or something else all you), a mask and you're ready to rock. The mask will run about another $100 for a good one and believe me, they're your eyes so invest wisely.

You can get a top of the line no holds barred marker ranging anywhere from $900 - $1800. You have a few limited editions like any other sport that run in the super high end of the spectrum whereas you also have markers just as good for way less.

A few good names for starter markers, way under the $300 mark, Spyder ( I personally never liked the design but they are extremely user friendly), and Tippmanns (the model 98 can almost be dropped off a 2 story building and still work).

The ones what are better IMHO but a little pricier or a little less user friendly are Autocockers (my personal favorite out of any marker) and impulses. The autococker got a really bad rep over the years, first model was out in 90, of being non-user freindly but believe me, the new models are extremely user friendly compared to the previous years and since most RC'ers are tinker freaks the cocker would suit us just fine. The Impulse is an electropneumatic marker tourney level right out of the box. The cocker and the Impulse will run you about $500 for the base levels of them and into the $1000+ mark for the super high end versions.

My last cocker, which was one of the rare ones I did not build, ran over $1400 for just the marker. No regulator. No air tank. No barrel. No loader. NADA. IMHO it was one of the best, if not the best, markers I have ever used in 16 years that I played. If I was going to get back into the sport I would probably buy, or build, another cocker.

Like I said earlier, it all depends on how much you want to spend.

kewl....thanks for all the info....one last question...

Why is it called a "marker" and not a "gun"??

It's from the Generation X frame of mind politically correct BS. You say GUN and someone thinks you have a GUN that shoots bullets and kills people. You say MARKER and people expect to see something that writes.

Something like that. Back in the day I called them paintball guns but the past few years working part time in the industry I was forced to call the MARKER and like it!

"iam going to shoot you with my marker" Sounds kinda lame but its better than saying iam going to shoout you with my gun.

ya aribian goggles are the most sic and twisted thing I have ever heard.
