You say that until the -40° winters hit! 🥶

Summers are worth it though. 70-80° and beautiful. I live in downtown, so it’s fairly populated. But, this is a 25 mile drive and a 30 minute dirt bike ride away. 😂 Not a peep of civilization in sight, just how I like it!

I've watched a LOT of tv shows that are based in Alaska. Mountain Men, Life Below Zero, etc. It reminds me of a greener version of Colorado, but with MUCH scarier wildlife 🤣

But if I ever get a chance to do life over, I am definitely moving to Alaska. I grew up chopping truckloads of firewood every year. And my best friend was a Husky 🥰 I think I could have done very well there in my youth.

If you want a realistic view on Alaska, watch “Alaska State Troopers.”

The reality shows are a gross over representation of what it’s like to live here. One season of life below zero was filmed 15 minutes away from a Walmart on farmers loop for example 😂

Military personnel move up here from southern states every year and acclimate just fine. It doesn’t take a hardcore rugged mountain man to live here like the shows depict. Plus the state is so big we have like 3 different climates and ecosystems depending on what town/city you move to. 😂 I think there’s even a “rainforest” down south.

Can't believe its already been a year since we started having you make bad financial decisions 🤣! Jokes aside, your a really great guy to have on the forum, your funny, nice, our main durability tester, selfless, and overall a great human being. I hope you plan to stay for many more years!

Fairbanks. Wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s quiet and I like being able to drive 30 minutes and be in the middle of nowhere. 😂
Beautiful area looks like. Palmer area is nice but I hated living there.
