So I've got a practically brand new corally asuga I'm selling to get the asuga XLR , trying to explain to my wife how I'm not really buying another RC car I'm just trading one for the other , but she's not seeing like I do , in fact nobody is , anyone interested in the asuga !! 😵‍💫😵‍💫she says I should sell it and pay my dentist bill instead ,,,,, that just doesn't make any sense at all , nor does it sound like any fun , I'll get to the dentist bill next month rrrrr uh ,,,ya

Already sold it to my boss, the XLR is on its way , I've got some reel nice street tires I'll try on it , hopefully before it snows hear , and I break out the slot car set and mini. Crawler set up I geuss

They really have stepped it up in quality, I have the kagamma and krohnas they are real good bashers , the steering links are week but cheep , hobby recreational products has been nothing but great on replacements , the kagamma had a servo savor problem , they sent me everything, including a new servo , that's my corally dealer for ever

Its unusual to get service/warranty coverage like that!
Very nice!

Well,,,,, I’m told that I’m spoiled somehow !! Sold my version 2 notorious to a friend a while back had to replace this awesome Basher speciality since all the major improvements that are on this truck I’m not changing anything but the steering blocks and carriers motor and esc are great stuff now and the servo is just fine colors of this truck are just to much I’m gunna add some Mojave roof skid strips to the roof

I had an Asuga XLR. Not super fond of it… it’s an odd size, which makes it unique. However, it uses some odd size parts and fitting more standard parts requires some modification and it just doesn’t have the buggy look anymore.

Wheel nuts eject off constantly, even with thread locker. Arrma serrated wheel nuts fixed this and wasn’t really a big deal. Rear arms could be stronger, they’re definitely the weak point and to my knowledge there’s nothing stronger available. Keep several as spares.

#1problem that kind of killed the appeal of it was the wheels. They’re just not good quality and the hexes strip out constantly, I had a pile of those wheels because I’d strip the hex on at least one every time I drove it. They are a very specific size as well, the only thing close in size are Mojave 6s wheels and tires. You will have to modify the wheel though for clearance though. At that point, it just didn’t look or drive like a buggy anymore. I ended up trading it off not long after I bought it. Definitely wish I had just gotten the Kagama or the spark. Solid drivetrain, solid aluminum, best RTR electronics I’ve ever had and the overall quality was great… but, the proprietary wheels and tires was really disappointing.

Edit: Oops. Just realized how old this thread was… if you haven’t already bought it, I’d steer clear and keep what you have. You’ll be a lot happier IMO.

Also to add to my previous comment, pretty difficult to cram a 6s LiPo in it with the battery tray size and the body being so low profile. You’ll have to cut the battery tray if you want the body to lay flat, which means it breaks the tray every time you have a hard landing. If you’re going to run 6s, stick to lower capacity smaller packs or run 4s and gear up. It’s insanely fast on 6s… like 60+mph in the right conditions on stock gearing and handles its speed well. The thing is a land missile and It’s actually pretty impressive. Electronics run on the warmer side, but not so hot I’d worry about them burning up.

Not to info dump, but I went through the impulse buy of it and all the trials and tribulations already. Figured I’d share my experience and hopefully others chime in. It’s been about a year, so maybe they’ve made some updates and improvements since then.

Got the notorious up on the bench , going through it , dam ! So much slop in the steering and the pillowballs are no less n her adjustable ( enter hot racing steering blocks !!! ) the servo horn is loose at the linkage end can’t tighten it without removal dam kids been playing in the lock tight again!! I have the best tools out there stripped the dam thing , gotta drill the head off it , but it’s all good , just like ANY rc,, out the box ,,,, needs help , can’t wait to double flip this thing off my roof !! 😂😂😂
