I went into the hobby store to get some hex drivers(They didn't have ANY replacement parts I need, and they're ordering more so I can expect them in anywhere from Monday to Friday of next week.), and I find the ones I need and then come up to the desk and get ready to check out when the owner of the store stops and talks to me for about an hour(Hes really nice, but if friggen talks too much!!) and gives me a Central Florida Hobbies T-shirt. So I say thanks and then go back to the cash register and notice some nitro engine cleaner so I get that because I've been wanting to clean up my car. So then I say...well I might as well get some electronic cleaner. So I get all that and remember I need some thread lock. So I get that(And by now my hands are full), So I go to check out and the friggen bill ends up being $30 fricking dollars!! When I wanted to pay $10 for friggen hex drivers!!

Off to go mow some lawns...:whip:

It's a sales tactic; lure the customer off-gaurd, derail their thought process, and get them to see all the goodies in the store.

You mean Marvel Mystery Oil doesn't clean engines? Well crap, what am I going to do with the 55 gallon drum I bought?

Damnit Spit, stick with a product, will ya? Jeez!

I bought individual ones...1.5 mm, 2 mm and 2.5 mm. I think they're made by Du-Bro...or maybe Dynamite. One of those.

Opps...something happened that I didn't mean to do. SORRY!

It's got nothing to do with the LHS , or salesmanship.

Last night, (since there is no LHS in my area) I went to towerhobbies, because I mainly needed a couple of antenna tubes, and already had a small wish list growing, I should have been free and clear with shipping at about no more than about $30.00.
I looked a little more, added a few items, looked, added, etc..

I placed the order and my total was $125.03 !

It's about how "hooked" you are :), And I damn sure am! I'm just glad that I'm not married and have no kids, I'd be spending their college fund if I did,,lmao!

The really sad part is, I'd might have had a little "buyer's remorse" if I had bought more of a refrigerator than I needed or more of a washer or dryer than I needed,,but I have no remorse about my purchase last night :)

Todd, it's like an addiction, these things we call a hobby... like CostCo, ....we can't leave unless it's for under 300.00 bucks.

Anyhow, I have the parts I mentioned in the PM, just need the time to send them to you. Update your parts list as I owe you 10.00.

Spit ya know I could probably whip ya up a MMA decal for your body if ya wanted..haha..

But yeah I hear ya. At my LHS its hard to buy what I came for. (They have to special order everything) if they have it or not, Ill end up spending some money. Thats why I try not to go there that often..lol

:) :) :) normally when you go to the hobby shop you start to remember all the gadgets you need or just whould like to have, you allways expend some more $$$ than you expect. Last time I was in USA I stopped in a Hobbyshop I found in Livonia, didn't need anything but I though it whould be nice to see an american LHS. I expend near 200$ in rims, bodies, tires and paints.

Last time I went to a proper Hobby Shop it was out on Long Island and I was blown away at just how much crap they had. I'm not just talking about RC stuff. I got a new folding pocket knife, I got a leatherman thingy with like 500 built in tools, I got some brake cleaner, some Nitro Clean, a baseball cap, some colored electrical tape, a telescopic nut/bolt picker upper magnetic thing, a holder for my EZ-PASS, 3 toggle switches for a future 1:1 project, a rechargeable electric screwdriver, and some other crap I can't think of right now. Over $100 in stuff I had no intention of purchasing and not one RC part.

For me, Ebay is the thorn in my wallet. I'll go browsing for buy it now stuff and end up spending my whole commission check.

If you did, I swear I would put it on my car!

Anyhow, I went a few weeks back to get a glow plug wrench, and ended up getting a pack of glow plugs, 3 kinds of replacement blades for my xacto knife, a new exacto knife, and a five-in-one wrench driver with these cool glow plug holders. I sorta fear going back there. But I'm sorta waiting for a discount card or something...hasn't happened yet!

Thats my problem, I buy a butt load of stuff and never pull a dollar out of my wallet LOL It's not so funny when the cc bill shows up, especially if the wife gets it before I do.
