Is this thing worth $400?

Ok, maybe its just me and my ignorance about the value of a used R/C, but please take a look at this auction located: HERE

The auction ended at $227. Notice the reserve price was not meet. The seller feels a reserve of $400 is, and i quote "a steal". Am I the only one NOT seeing this?

Remind you, you can head over to www.StormerHobbies.com and pick up a Brand New T-Maxx 2.5 for $399.95.

So please let me know, am I correct in thinking this thing isn't worth $400. Or am I just that blind to see a good value?

lol. $400 for that? I would guess that guy was smoking some thing when he posted that. He has a few add ons but nothing that would bring it up to that price. He is just another person on eBay who thinks they can get what they paid for it.

he's just trying to make a buck to move that butt. I know guys who fix up real cars and will never get what they paid for even though they added all kinds of upgrades and modifications. Unless its a brand new kit and is all bling bling, I would not pay for the car if I could get a brand new one for the same price.

There's a little bling bling on it, but nothing that sets it apart. I read it and thought I would definitely spend that kind of scratch on a new 2.5 instead.

Sounds like someone has overestimated the value of his toy.

For $400 you could buy a new Savage or a new T-Maxx. Hopefully, the novice modeler doesn't see that and think bargain.

It looks like he has about 800.00 to 1000.00 in it.
I don't particularly like his choice of ad-ons.
For 399.00 you can get the 2.5 new and it will kick ass on a modded pro.

NO WAY! It has a K&N air filter, and we all know they were not designed or intended for rc use. The fuel tank is not a traxxas tank, so who knows what he has on there. Stinger pipes sound great but cause tuning and starting problems due to the upturned header. Look at it real close, it looks more like a magic wheel with an OS engine on it, and a tq3 radio, that might explain the tank, the receiver box dont look kosher either. On board temp guages I have found to be not very accurate, and if you have a temp gun it is not needed. I say no way, he would have been lucky to get what the bid was at.
