Is there a difference between Mod 1 pinion and a 48p pinion

Hey RC MAN. Here is info that may be of interest:

1.0 module-referred to as metric 32 is actually a standard 25.4 pitch. Fits 5mm pinion shaft.
0.8 module is same as 32 standard pitch. Fits 1/8in pinion shaft.
0.6 module-referred to as metric 48 pitch is actually standard 42.3 pitch. Fits 1/8in pinion shaft.

Robinson Racing Products (aka RRP) makes an adapter sleeve that will mate a Mod1 5mm pinion to a 1/8in shaft.

Operationally, and as a general rule, a 48P pinion makes smaller difference to gear ratio and a 32P a larger difference. Said another way, 32P gets you close in gearing; 48P gets you spot on the sweet spot. 32P generally has bigger, stronger teeth than 48P. For that reason it is gaining favor among bashers. Mod1 gearing seems the go-to for speed runners. Hope this helps.

[Edit to incl 48P info and Opnl para.] Cheers. 'AC'

Thanks for the clarification!😀😀
Thanks for the response!

Will try to go 32p if possible as it sounds more tough😀

Hey, just one more thing.... Do RRP make a 5mm motor shaft to a 1\8 pinion adapted?

Cheers,
