hi all I'm new here.i was just wondering if the tc3 plus is any good.I'm planning to get it in a month or so just trying to save up the money.i tried the search engine but didnt find anything.I'm a newb to nitro not sure if i should get the rtr or the kit.i will just be bashing it first but plan to race when i get better.thanks for the help guys.have a good one... :)

Yes. IMO its a great car to bash, race and get parts for.
Good luck.

ok thanks guys it helps me alot.i will be hopefully getting it by next month.i realy like the way it looks.the kit looks pretty good to still can't decide.would the kit be good for a newb.thanks again guys....

IN my opinion, the kit is better because it gets you introduced to the parts.
This way, if you break anything you'll know what it is and how it comes apart.
On the other hand, if you just want to jump in with both feet, get the RTR and when it breaks, you can use the instruction manual to fix it..
I say kit. if you can follow instructions carefully, you wont have a problem.

I always prefer a kit over a RTR. I enjoy building more than driving.
As mentioned above you will have cardinal knowledge of your RC if you build it yourself. If you get a RTR much of the RC will be a mystery and when you need to wrench on it you may not know what to do.

One thing to look at it a kit will cost much more then a RTR. You will need to purchase your electronics and engine separately. Depending on what you get you can add another $150.00- 500.00 to the price but in the long run you will have a better RC.

thanks for the help guys.i would like to get the kit but i have to see if the wallet and wife will allow it.if i get the kit i would like to get the xs3 so at least the radio gear will be solved its just the engine.time will tell i guess.i will let you guys know soon.thanks again guys....

DON'T TELL THE WIFE YOU NUT!!!
I mean, what she doesn't know............

i will see what i can do maybe me and her can split the costs.anyway i have a month or so to decide maybe i will get lucky.thanks guys.this hobby is getting pretty expensive i love it.this forum rocks keep up the good work....

You just need to make her see that RCs are cheaper than going to the Bar. If you need a little more leverage have you seen the price of a DUI lately?

Not to mention the boobie bar!! you guys will find out at the bash. ha ha ha

ok i made up my mind i will be getting the kit i wont realy know if i could build it or not if i dont try it out.is this a good engine for it OS .12 CV-RX ? thanks for the help again guys i hope to get soon i can't wait.

Don't worry about building the kit. Everything in the instruction book is well laid out and for those of us that like going by the pictures, it's good for that as well. All the bags are labelled. The instructions tell you what bag to get and the step by step instructions are great.

As far as the OS .12 CV-RX, that was the engine I first got with my NTC3. It's a great little mill. Well suited for beginners and has more than enough power. As you gain more experience with the car, you will upgrade engine's. As of now, I have a Rody RB X12, 5 port turbo in mine. This is the third engine I have had in there. They all still run, just wanted more performance. My OS 12 CV-RX has just started to lose compression after about 5 gallons. It still runs but can only be started with a starter box now.

Good luck with your car!

is $335 a good price for the new team kit? is it cheaper anywhere else? so far ultimate hobbies is the cheapist.

I would put in a NS3 or pixie motor instead of the O.S. if you are getting the kit version do cut corners on the engine you will wind up buying a better one once you know the car.Besides I hate the way the O.S. sounds like a weed whacker

I'm just getting the o.s. engine because i dont want to spend so much on a very good engine just yet.i want something i can learn on I'm still a newb and not very good at tuning and all the yet.i dont mind buying a better one later once I'm good at tuning all that other stuff.do you have a link tho i would like to check them out.thanks for the input guys helps me alot.
