That rs4 would be sweet, and there are about a million upgrades for those :jet:

Here is my RS4 SS .18 It has a few hop ups

i agree with you on that, it seems pretty fast and durable even on stock. And from what i am learning its good for "bashing"

hehe I'm learn'ding

You got the sweetest ride there, looks like you abuse your car a lot which means it can endure a lot. I've limited my options down to the rs4, but now to decide which one i should get. I am new, so RTR might be good. But the non RTR looks more promising with better parts. Also, i dont really know what SS is, but looks like it uses a bigger engine from the .15

Do i sound like i know the basics of RC cars?

ps. you're gonna need some new tires soon

and i want this, but its way out of my league;

glad to have ya. the ss i believe is the kit version at least with the savage it is.most likely better parts than the rtr, but you'll have to buy a radio and servos seperate.

make sure you are sure about a street car, cause they can only go on the street. monster trucks and you can do it everywhere all night long.

that car your looking at will run you another $200 on top of the $350. get the rs4 rtr i hear it's a sweet ride and worth adding hop-ups as well as most hobby shops having parts avail when needing them. HPI is a good company located here in southern cali. i have a savage ss meself

LOL the only abuses that car has on it is when my dog grabed it and tossed it off my deck(he hates my nitros) Its a boxer trate....

First off welcome!
Go with the rs4 18ss. You learn the car from the start so when something happens you know how to fix it. Also it comes with a really nice engine, and building is lots of fun.

My rs4 should be here on Monday.. and as sad as it sounds, I wish the weekend would just hurry up and get over, so I can get my damn RS4!!!!! I'm 25 going on 9..lol

i know someone else asked this already. but make sure you want an onroad car...do you have a large area of flat clean (not a lot of pebles cracks etc) to run on or a track near by?.. onroads are fun but really picky where they run....i would think of a nitro rustler .. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXJG49**&P=ML

or a rc10gt
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCLU0&P=ML

you would have a lot more options on where to run ....i would buy an onroad only after you already have an off road ....and if you say I'm only goin to buy one..thats what we all say at first

of and if were introducing ourselfs I'm the forum retard :dumb: welcome to the site

If I were you, being a begginer to nitro I would honestly just get a RC10GT RTR stadium truck.

- They're cheap
- Durable
- Very very simple
- Meant for on road and off-road use.
- Lots of upgrades
- Easy to find parts for.

$279

First off, welcome since I have yet to even introduce myself.

AS far as your chioce, it all depends on your future plans of driving. Do you want speed? Do you want speed and jumping? Durability? What is your actual skill of nitro? Are you willing to actually work on your nitro ride most of the time? What is your LHS like for availability on the actual car/truck/ buggy you want?

The NTC3 RTR is a very good car to start off with in onroad. I got the kit version as I have been building them for a while . I still learn though. I think Onroad the NTC3 will grow with you as you learn more. It can be upgradeable very easily and the aftermarket supports is HIGH. The RS4 RTR 3 EVO is good as well. My buddy Zandor has one as you know and it is a very good ride and will grow with you as well.

I myself am getting the NTC3 again as I really enjoyed that ride. I also have a a stadium truck: XXX-NT, a MT: Savage and an 1/8th scale buggy: MBX5. I have many others that I have acquired but these are the ones I care for mostly.

Your budget now and the budget for maintenance should be considered for a purchase. Pleas do not get this buggy. IMO it sounds too much trouble then it is laid out for you. Lots to look at so please ask away!!

Hmm someting smells like bad nitro fuel here...

No maker listed, what is this? A nitro car from a cereal box?

"2-SPEED 15CX JAPAN MAKE ENGINE" WOW I say WOW like big deal.Team Infinity...? Anybody can start a team.I am part of Team Blueberry Jam and?

Mostly pics of the body and two fuzzy pics of the chassis and engine.Fishy

"No-Flex chassis design for better performance" Really, any chassis will flex, even if it will not be percieved or affect performance. They should offer a Bow-Flex chassis to sell more to unsuspecting people

Stay far far away from this car

:2cents:

ok i have to put my two cents into this for you I would say stay away from the on road for your first car, you will run into a curb just like I did. I would get a stadium truck, they are hard to flip, can go off road and go pretty fast, and they have lots of upgrades, i admit I got one of those POS cars to start with and it was just a headache it did have an HPI motor which made it easier to tune but everything was junk, its impossible to get parts and you WILL break something, unless you have a savege LOL just remember if you get a kit id does not come with servos, radio, on-off switch or battery holder, I just ran my savage for the first time today so I am still pretty new but this hobby is a BLAST hope you do your research and get what you want

Fresh meat, fresh meat, fresh meat...yeah, ok, we like newbies.

Back to business. If you REALLY want a road car, then go with a RTR. In the case of the RS4 RTR's, they can be adapted to take all the SS parts when you get serious about racing. SS parts include a 2 speed transmission, turnbuckle suspension, etc. Plus, a hotter motor.

You still have not responded to the proposal that you may want to consider a truck of some sort unless you are comepletely comvinced you will always run on clean, smooth surfaces.

guys i need more help... i think greenwing7 was right. i can't drive an onroad car for beans. I borrowed my friend's skyline that he bought off ebay and i was playing with it in the parking lot. Then i ran it full speed into the curb and it spun 900 degrees. Then one of the wheels snapped off the metal stick thing... =/

I'm so depressed now. Everything went wrong with that car, The antenna snapped in half when i didnt touch it or hit it, and gosh...

i think he abused his car before i got to touch it so i dont know if its my fault. The hpi rs4 evo3 should be good at bashing right...i really hope so. I feel like such an amateur with rc cars. How long did it take you guys to learn to drive your rcs without crashing or anything?

[Edit] The brand was smartech, similar to this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=19168&item=5971059961&rd=1
