All right guys.. if u had one tip (or many) for a new person in nitro r/c. what would be?

I have two of 'em, each equally important....

1.) PATIENCE. These things can be problematic, and turning them into a $500 punching bag isn't going to solve anything.

2.) RTM. Read The Manual. When you've read it, read it again, and again. Study it more than you'd study those Ofna posters that used to come with a Car Action issue.

Heatbreak stole the board. Those two are probally, the most important things you cand do or have. Another thing is give it time. If you get pissed just give it time and youll figuar it out. Its a fun hobby you just need to stick with it.

great guys keep them coming.. how about driving tips?? jumping tips? cornering? etc..

Get a second job........j/k

Be prepared to break things but don't freak when you do. It is going to happen. Use it as an opportunity to upgrade that part to something that will not break. And learn how to work on you rig, whether it be repairing breaks or just cleaing and maintaining. Invest in a good hardened steel screw kit and quality tool set (hex drivers).

Or just get really good at working on cars and learn how to do it quick so you can get back out to kickin your friends ass lol.

Yep then they get frustrated try to keep up and end up crashing and you get a good laugh out of it! I did it to my friend he broke the hole back end on his t-maxx it was great.

RTFM

Read The Friggin Manual.......and EXPECT to work on the rig...that is a BIG part of the sport...

BTW the folks advise here is golden.....you should heed it to the letter.

The one thing I would tell someone is the same thing I was told.

Do NOT let your friends drive your car!

get a failsafe..

the best thing you'll ever buy in RC. It proved it for me yesterday i was on full throttle dowen the street and it just braked, turned out my reciever batt was dead, without the failsafe it would have hit the wall and virtually demolished it or maybe even hit a passer by.

My tip is start with a slow car. Buy a fast car and you'll just get frustrated that you keep crashning it, also it will cost a lot to repair.

secondly learn about your engine- Learn to know when it's flooded etc

thrid (not really a tip but all the same)- Buy a 6v reciever battery. It is rechargable and put's out 1.2v more than AA batterys so more power to the servo's

Last of all- Go Racing. You will get bored very quickly running up and down the street. So go racing. You'll make loads of friends and learn lot's more about your car that way. Other's will disagree saying you could just bash it but believe me you will get bored

get a failsafe..

DEFINENTLY a good investment, i didnt have one, and my reciever got wet, and my rc took off at full throttle down the road. Thankfully it hit a yard lamp to slow it down, the hit the wall. It was fine though, but its rare to walk away from somthing like that. so a fail safe is a very wise investment.
