I want a buggy now

Ofna started life in this world as the KIA of RC cars. They were the "cheap" alternative. Lately they have gotten much better. I would consider an Ofna buggy only a basher for the fact that they are just not up to the quality of craftmanship that goes into a GS Storm, Inferno, MBX5. The parts arent tooo expensive and can probably be found most anywhere.

If I were to do it again and wanted an Ofna I would look at the 9.5 or the Hyper 7. I wouldnt go any lower than those. theres a new Hyper PBS (or somthing like that) that looks really killer. I thinks its giong to be their first stab at a "real" racer.

if u never plan to race - then the ofna buggies arnt too bad. if u can afford more - get a better buggy, but if u can't, then grab an ofna. think of ofna like HPI in the touring car world. They are nice cars, parts are readily available, but they wont ever be race winners, nor have the adjustability of the top performers.

yeah I just want one to mess around with... I ened up getting that OFNA Ultra MBX Pro... under $300 new.. I don't think I'll be in competition with the buggy.. just nice to have... comes with a .25 already .. so now I am stuck with this Picco .26 again.. probably sell it:shrug:

did u already buy it? if not - DONT!!!!!! Ofna makes the MBX pro version as an ARR also, without engine or electronics. U can pick it up at tower for 180.00

robriguez you kill me,

How you can put the Storm, EB4, or the Lightning "Pro" over a Hyper 7 Pro, defies me? Oh, something to remember is Ofna repackages the Hyper 7's from Ho Bao for sale in the states.

Yes I own a Hyper 7 Pro, also a Kani II. Either of them are worlds above the GS's that I have raced against. I must admit I have only seen one EB4, It broke in the first heat, the Hot bodies has good reviews but is not really in league with the others.

I just have a problem with "5. anything Ofna".

Ofna, or "Hoa Boa" in the Hyper 7's case, are placeing in Nat's and World level Comps.

All buggies are fun, it just depends what you are looking for, parts availability, and how deep is your pocket.

I would like to know more info regarding the differences in these two buggys. I'm relatively new to 1/8th scale and started with a Kyosho Inferno MP-7.5 Sports RTR. Some parts of my buggy disagree with what is posted here. First, it has a GX21 engine. It has white wheels and wing, not green. Everything else appears to agree...

My concern is that I won't be able to hop-up the buggy like I want to.

Right now I've bolted in the complete Kanai 3 center differential and rear sway bar. Included with the diff was a 46T metal spur gear (have a 48T on order). I've replaced the roller bearing 13T clutch bell with a 14T ball bearing. Also on order is the front torque rod. I plan to upgrade the front/rear diffs with the extra two spider gears (have already switched to oil for the diffs) similar to the Kanai buggys.

Given all that... if over the next few months I want to bolt in a Hyper 8-port race and header/pipe, K3 shocks, hardened pinion gears, better turnbuckles and hingepins, CVDs, other standard issue K 2/3 parts... Can I do all that or not?
