:whack: I feel stupid with nitro's but I guess everyone starts somewhere huh?
I own a savage 21, RS-4, Nitro rustler, Mini-T, and a electric Rustler. IF any one has any advice on any of these or even tips and tricks it'd help me out. I'm a newbie to this kinda stuff i've just hit some good deals =) Like i got my RS-4 for 100$ barely ran after break in 5 sets of tires and a extra engine. =) I bought my savage 21 brand new and didnt know anythign about them and didnt break it in lol. I killed the motor so i bought a new one put it in and it still wont work =(.

Thanks for ne help. I've been :bowned: by nitro's
Sorry I'm a :n00bie:

You have quite the collection of RC's for being such a newb..

I am also a newb to RC's and here but I can tell you break in is one of if not the most important part of getting started with a NIB RC so I would put some care into that first.

Also maintain your RC's as suggested by the manufacturer as they know best.

Yeah All of them are already broke in now except my savage 21 which the motor doesn't want to start as i posted in befor thsi one. But thanks for the tip :sniper:

Not to crack a whip but try to keep the smileys down to a minimum .. Read the New Forum rules man. I do like yyour collection. Strictly nitro for me. I wouldn't mind having a Mini T. Looks cool. Why don't you state the issues you have and lets see what we the forum can do.

Ighit sorry bout the smiles havnt read the new rules i'll go read them now. Yeah thanks the mini t's r awsome i love mine in the process of rebuilding it i broke it lol. Ok my RS-4 it's like its overheating and dies otu after about 2 minutes. So i said ok i'll work on it tomorrow and the enxt day it wouldnt even start. My savage 21 i got a new motor put it together and everytime i pull the crank it tries to take off and its not even on so i know i messed up somewhere on there but i dont know were.

Sounds like your RS4 is too lean. Have you been fiddling with the needles? If you are not sure I would restore all needles back to factory and work from there. Also It would help to know what engines you are having problems with. As with your savage 21, it still is a little too vague. You mean that is accelerating on its own? Have you let it run a little to see if it stops? It might do this if you have an air leak somewhere. Check your lines. Also how did you "put it together"? Is your throttle servo in the idle position? Please help us to help you by giving us more specifics.

Ok the RS-4 the guy had it running perfect befor me but I'll try that. The svage 21 no when i pull it to start it as soon as i oull it the wheels take offit doesn't even act liek it's trying to start.

ok try what I said for the RS4 but the savage.. are you meaning that the wheels turn when you pull on the pull start thus it is taking off? So you are meaning that the truck isn't "on" but wants to move?

there sound like you got a problem w/ your clutch if the car wants to move and it is not even running. I would pull the clutchbell and check the clutch.

How's it supposed to be bro? >NOOB sorry i such a noob r they supposed to be like ? or what?

Always take your time on breakin. Put after run oil in the carb and in the cylinder head. Do a pre run check of things. Get a temp gun and try to keep the temp around 230. Get fuel filters. Get a failsafe and throttle return spring. Lock tight engine mount screws or anything that is metal on metal.(use blue lock tight) And have fun.....Nick

If your clutch is engaging without the engine running, you have clutch issues. This won't let it start. Which may be a blessing in desguise.

I'm not familiar with the savage or it's components, so I'm not sure as to what style of clutch it has. You may want to throw a post in the savage specific forum. I'm sure you will get better help there.
