I need iPod info

I remember having this problem awhile ago when my computer got screwed up and I had to do a fresh install. All my music was on my iPod but I couldn't get it off. I got this program, I think it was called 4media iPod to PC Transfer. It worked perfectly for me but it took awhile.

Okay, so here's what I've got:

I go through Windows Explorer to my external drive, open the folder containing the music I've transferred from the iPod, and the first thing I get is a list of 60 folders without names. Just some kind of I.D. tags that I know nothing about....

When I open one of those folders, the songs in each are in NO logical order and the only way I know what's there is to 'mouse over' to see the title. No artwork, or any other info. Each song needs to be opened separately this way just to play in Media Player.

The song will play, but there is NO info available in Media Player or any other audio player.
I thought Gates was possessive. Jobs is even worse.

Wow, Ralph. Looks all too familiar. Sorry I couldn't be of more help but, like I said, I have been trying to find a work-around for a while now...

What I find particularly odd is going through 'my computer' and the the external HD, then opening the folder that the songs are in. It's empty.
