i have a force .26 in my ultra mbx comp and when i start it it starts at 35,000 rpms please help what should i do

35K rpms? Whoa.... You sure it isn't 36K rpms or even 37K?

All kidding aside, make sure your carb is closed before starting; grab the sides and pinch it closed.

i have a side carb so would that be the side needle or what
THANKS

Make sure the slide is all the way in. At this point dont go messing with the needles.
If you have goon screwdriver happy, now is the time to fess up.

the needle setting we have it at now are 3 1/2 for the main and the lower one that i think is the idle is 1

You need to make sure the idle adjustment screw, which is different than the low speed needle, is set to hold the carb open about 1mm when at idle. You may also want to make sure the servo linkage and end point adjustment on your radio (if you have one) is set at the right setting.

Take the air cleaner off and look down the throat of the carb. With the RX and TX on and no finger on the trigger, the carb opening should only be about 1mm. If it's any larger, you need to adjust.

Also the question that has not been asked is are the wheels turning too? If so adjust or replace your clutch.

Back up here, beep beep beep.
Find out WHY your motor is starting up so high. Obviously it's trying to start at full throttle. I don't htink its possible to go that fast without having throttle input. Take off your air filter and turn on your radio/reciever. If your carb is open a lot, chances are your linkage is messed up or the center point on your servo is screwed up.
Check these things. Look and see how your linkage is set up, check the idle screw (this limits how far the throttle closes), check your radio to see if the center point is making it stay at full throttle. Ultimately though, if you look over the car and work the throttle (with it not running of course) then you should be able to find out. We can only narrow it down so far

look i have tried all those things when the carb is closed it wont start and i dont have the throtle input i dont touch the remote

yes the wheels are spining

I think the guys here need more info. Did you just replace the engine? Had it been running properly before? Did you bash the snot out of it or have a bad wreck? Throw some more info to these guys to give them an idea of whats going on. These guys have mountians of info to help but you need to be more specific.

ok i bought my car off of ebay and he said the car runs great and is fast. so i bought it and when it came i tried to start it and it just reved to max rpm and i didnt no what to do and then i found out that the hoses were backwords so i rearanged the and still reved then i found out that the remote was on reverse so i changed it and still reves with tires spinning so thats why I'm on here cause i think you guys can help me to fix my :buggy1:

Have you checked the throttle trim on the transmitter? I have had that happen to me when one of my kids got hold of it and turned the trim way out of wack. Took me a few minutes to figure that one out. :ahh: When you say "hoses", do you mean the fuel lines?

I have a .15 TRX and when i mess with the A/F ratio screw when i turn it in the reves go higher caus its leaner and burning hotter. When i screw it out the idle drops and runs a lil cooler. See what happens when you screw the A/F needle in and out. JUST keep track of where you started and where you end up. See what that does for you.
