hey, the stampede 2wd is fun.
i daily bash a 2wd 3S rustler. (mm) its pretty durable, unless you drive it off a cliff. get a 2wd traxxas. trust me, he wont regret it.

Depends how capable he is and his wallet is really. If you run primarily traxxas, you will be able to help him more if he gets something you have.

The hoss is a decent start for a beginner... but the maxx is a better truck if he has the $.

I have a buddy who would like to get started in Rc and I would like your recommendations. I don’t know where to point him other than traxxas. Are there any other brands with good beginner cars.

Red cat racing is also a good brand a lot of choices and styles RTR’s and almost RTR’s.
