Hey guys, I’m new here, but I’ve been in the hobby a while. I’ve had lots of Slash’s and a couple 2wd stadium trucks, but I recently picked up a used E-Revo off eBay. It’s not what I’m used to and I like that. It was pretty rough when it arrived, so I tore it down to the bare chassis (before even driving it), gave everything a thorough bath, went through the diffs, etc. Got the truck outside for its first run and it RIPS. I’m very happy with the truck at this point. It does everything my Slash isn’t real happy doing, which is perfect.
I do have one thing that has come up that really puzzles me. The truck drives totally normal unless I feed it the onions for more than a couple seconds, then it drops power and shows the center red light on the ESC. It resets when I restart the ESC, but it’s kind of annoying when I’m going for speed runs. Have any of you experienced this before? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks! -E

Sounds like battery sag. Do you have a low voltage alarm you can plug in? What brand, size and age batteries and are you using adapters?
What servo are you running?
Welcome to RCTALK.COM!!! 😁😎👍
I don’t have a battery alarm, but I was considering getting one. I’m running dual 2s Zeee 5200mah, and for 6s I run dual 3s Zeee 5200mah lipos…. I am running adapters because right now all my batteries run deans or t plug connectors.
The truck arrived with the stock servos so I chucked those out in favor of dual EcoPower WP110T servos. Thanks for all the replies guys! -E

Your adapters might be causing the whole issue. Those Deans or T cons, if they aren't real Deans brand connectors may be adding resistance to the circuit. Some of the cheap aftermarket connectors are really terrible.
Does any if your gear get warm or hot when you run?

Is the rest of the truck stock?

The thought did cross my mind. They’re off Amazon, so they may be suspect. The motor stays at what I’d consider warm during my bash sessions on 4s, which is what I run most of the time. I haven’t noticed any abnormal heat in the connectors though.
So far the only mods are limiting straps in the rear, stiffer rear springs, Hot Racing front bumper, and the servos. I may try unplugging one of the servos to see if that has any effect. Thank you. -E

Thanks! I’m gonna try unplugging one of the servos on my next bash session and see what happens. If that doesn’t change anything I’ll try some higher quality adapters. -E

If the servos are drawing too much power, they might be browning out the esc.
A BEC might fix you up.
Good luck!
Thanks, I’m gonna give the servo unplug a try on my next bash session. Does the
