I bought a new r/c today but...

I found an B6.3 roller that was only raced on carpet and an RC10LS also only run on carpet. Both are immaculate. The price was right so I bought them...
I'm happy about the cars of course BUT...
The man who sold me these cars was wearing the local r/c track shirt...
We got to talking and I found out that the "local track" is moving about 25 mins south of me!
Thats over an hour to drive TO the track!!!
My illustrious professional R/C team driver/captain/owner/team bus driver may very well have just derailed entirely!
What a happy/sad day!

I can relate, my brand new T5M arrived a week after the season ended. I showed up for early practice the following season to find the building had been sold. I ended up giving the truck a way to one of my friends kids for a basher.

I know how you feel, you buy a new rc and then you lose your playground. Kind sucks.

Great about your new acquisitions. But that’s a pain about the track moving. Will you post some pics of your new rigs soon? What year were they originally released?

I found these cars on Craigslist.
I saw the ad for the B6.3 and immediately thought of @DavidB1126 !
I had advised him to purchase a similar car that he was looking at. This car was cheaper and in better shape! I was also looking for a cheap and easy "get on the track and run" car so when I saw this there wasn't much to think about. I made an offer.
2 mins after I made that offer I saw the ad for the 10LS! I've wanted an RC10L since I was young. Def a "bucket list" purchase!
The pics of the car actually looked familiar, like I saw it posted here recently! It looked unbelievably clean for a car of its age!
Again, priced "below ebay" so... no brainer!!! Offer sent for TWO Associated! (He had a 3rd SCT fir sale too but is not my favorite r/c racing class)
Same seller, now prob thinking I'm a crazy person making an offer on 2 cars in less than 5 mins!
Seller was older guy who ONLY ran the cars on carpet (at "my local track").
He was a real nice guy too.
He gave me a bit of history on them and a fair amount of parts and accesories... INCLUDING A FEW KYOSHO PARTS!
(Its like we were destined to meet!


As for the track... like I said, I BOUGHT this B6 car to get on a track ASAP. I miss racing! Building is fun but this IS the carpet indoor season and I'm missing it!
The ride isn't a total deal breaker for the time alone.
Driving from NH coast 1hr+ north to Maine (home) can be driving in rain when I leave the track parking lot and 1' of snow in my driveway when I get home.
The weather here is no joke.
Theres another indoor track north of me. Another 1+hr trip though. Never been there but I intend to go even if I'm not racing.
I might need to break in to the local high school gym for some midnight "track time"!!!
Does anyone know if we have a RCTALK.COM legal team/fund for r/c related legal issues???

The seller was such a nice guy! He seemed the type who would sit and put time in with you to help you understand a problem that you might be stuggling with.
A guy I'd ENJOY racing with!
He bought a B7 so I'm still hoping we'll see each other trackside. He said he was getting older and wanting to get out of racing though.

The last track I race at went from clay off-road/oval...

to concrete floor for HAVAC company storage.

I blame myself for doing the club scene, choosing to make music with the boys, rather than making laps.

TIME kills ALL things!!!

I used to build sound and lighting systems for bars and night clubs.
Clubbed to death indeed!

The good news here is that the polished floor makes for some fuuuuuun looking oval racing!!!
You can double down by putting some nice carpet down and we could hang a nice EAW/Ashly system up in that ceiling and no one but the neighbors and cops would ever really notice!

I think the seller was happy to see these going to someone who appreciates them and not going to 4s speed/height ramp runs to "show those Brits how its done!"
Kevin Talbot was nowhere to be seen!
I still have a Magnum Jr and a few Novak and Tekin escs.
This deal included a Kyosho 240S, Trinity stock and (SPA?) Kyosho stock brushed motors too!
I feel like I really scored on this one.
I wish I had the extra$$$ for his SCT!

I do love this radio (and RC10L) and I hope I can use it in a "true vintage" class. I have a few others that are pretty well stock and old school brushed that would be a lot of fun to run/run again too!
That said, a new MT12 IS on the shopping list! (I've said this like 4 times and bought cars or Hobbywing's sale came up...
I have had that and the Hota 6pro in about 20 shopping carts in the past 2 months!
I really hope the new track location is amazing and easy to "hyper-space" to!
I think the guy felt my heart slam into the Walmart parking lot floor when he told me about the move!
