Just out of curiosity, why so many sets at one time?
I always carry 6 bins of wheels and 1 bin of spare parts to every race event I attend, 2 bins for buggy and 4 bins for truggy, I just finished unpacking from RC Pro Series Round#6, and this photo doesn't include the 6 other bins of unglued wheels in the closet!

Basically we need several tread patterns and several compounds to account for varying track conditions to get the best possible performance package going.

I understand why racers have a bunch of tires, but as far as I know, Littlemotor doesn't race competitively, hence my question to him.

I love listening to episodes of The Big Bang Theory when wrenching on my cars, makes the time go by much faster :)
I’d shoot my self lol… I’m a tunes kind of guy.. I swear I’m the only guy on the planet that fails to see the draw to that show..🤷🏻‍♂️😅

Definitely not the only one. I'd rather listen to music when wrenching also.

Tires are the NUMBER ONE tuning option for any 1/8 *uggy, PERIOD… I don’t race competitively, but I DO frequent backyard tracks. Those tracks have COMPLETELY different surfaces, dirt, and maintenance (more accurately; lack there of😅). And weather changes dramatically from one day to the next here in NC.

I also run (3) truggies… And pictured in this session (yes-I have moarrrrrrrr🤷🏻‍♂️) are (14) sets of tires… based on that number alone-a little less than (5) sets per truck.. I try NOT to rob peter to pay Paul.. and most of the time-what works on one truck that day, at that location; will work on the others.. And I don’t wanna go reaching for that set I know will work, only to find it smoked because I am not on top of my number one consumable aside from FUEL.. I can absolutely murder a set of tires in a decent day on ONE truck.. Let alone a solid weekend..

That being said-I have just the primo amount of tires and wheels imo to support (5) *uggies..

Yea with me racing 1/10 4wd spec class. I usually just buy a set and run them down until I need new ones. I'm running mostly indoor dirt now which slicks of any kind will work. I also do some carpet which is pretty harsh on tires. Have 3 sets of used slicks which are broken down and the rubber is tearing that you can see the blue foams. And a new fresh set that I just mounted up the other day.

I have 2 sets of carpet pin tires that are worn down and use as backyard basher tires. And 1 carpet set which is super traction and only has 2 track days on em. Now if I get into outdoor dirt racing, yea I'll probably have 3 different tread sets with me. But if I'm just club racing or just for practice, probably only 1 set.

I've tried to watch the show a few times through the years, and thought it just wasn't funny. However, last year, I started watching Young Sheldon and came to really liked the show. Somehow, I transitioned into the BBT, and I've been a big fan since....now that the show has ended about 4 years ago.
