Hyper 8 or CEN Matric ??? Which is better

Hi there. I'm about to make my first 1/8th scale purchase and I am wondering if you guys could help me out on which car to buy. I want to do some local racing, but nothing serious, mainly playing around. I have narrowed it down to 2 cars. the HoBao Hyper 8 or the CEN matrix RTR.
Could you guys help out on which car is the better one overall. Good and bad points on both cars would be much appreciated.

Yeah, i think i will. Becomes too exspensive the other way with a kit. I've done the sums.

Go with the Hyper 8, You can get pro parts on ebay for cheap if any of the stock RTR parts break. I have a pro and have bought a lot of extra back up parts on ebay.

I think the Hyper parts will be cheaper and readily avail.

I love my Matrix..friggen awsome. Parts are not quite readily available as the hypers so maybe consider that. Matrix is hard to beat for an rtr though, 140 oz metal gear servos, mx3 radio, very good 26 engine, very tough car. can't go wrong with either one.

Go with the buggy that your local hobby store (lhs) carries parts for. Another idea is to keep an eye on the for sale portion of this board for good deals.

i'm with Hamz. go with the buggy your lhs carries. i learned the hard way with mine (mugen). not only were parts hard to get (always having to wait for an order to be placed) getting someone local to help out with an issue became frustrating as well

Thanks for the feedback guys. I went for the CEN MATRIX, as my hobby shop sells them and the parts, and well it seems pretty well equiped and seems like a good package overall.
