Well I finally got to burn some nitro thru the Hyper 7 I picked up from Monkey.

Man does it haul ass!! Thank Monkey. I have a few questions however and perhaps one of you buggy guys can help me out. This is my first buggy.

I managed to put it on it lid several times and I bent the stinger on the Ofna 086 pipe it came with. It has a Hyper .21 8 port engine which is snappy to say the least.

So the question is..... is it worth trying to repair the bent to the point of cracking stinger on the pipe?

I was thinking JB weld or some such??

Or should I bag that and spring for a new pipe.....if so is the OFNA 086 the one for that engine ??? or what is the thinking on the JP-3 or JP-2....???

It also would not stay running very long and would flame out at odd times.....tuning??? air leak?? Anyway I just need someone to point me in the right direction so I can get this monster running solid enough to race.

I am sure it is all a matter of my newbness......so feel free to beat me up on what I should already know..;)

Hey Bud,

Glad you are having fun with the buggy. A few things to point out. Jumping this rig will have a different affect as oppose to a MT. Since you have the option to adjust for brake bias, I would try playing with that. A buggy tends to "fly" better so adjustments may be minimal depending on how they were set already.

XRC magazine has a great article on downforce and how to adjust it with the wing. That may serve useful.

As far as your issues, I would spring for a Jammin pipe. I have always liked the JP-2 pipe for mid - top power range.

For your flame outs, I would check the plug, it may be hosed. BUT

Please explain how it would flame out.

Thanks fro the response Jon2.....and the tips.. I think I was able to get it all worked out yesterday. I set the engine back to factory settings to tune it to my area. With a few adjustments it runs great ...idles right......responds quickly and flies like a bird.....I still need to become a better driver however..;)

We are taking it to the track tonight to tweak the set up for racing and Thursday night will be our first race.

I really like the buggy class....much more durable and closer to my driving style than my Revos. I will keep therm for now ....but watch for a fire sale soon to clear out space fr more buggy gear.
