My Wheely King arrived today and I must say this thing is fun! I haven't had an electric in a while and I have missed it....Plug and play is killer! I have plans to reverse the chassis, extend the wheelbase, add Axial bead lock with MK2's (on the way), waterproof esc, and mount the servo over the axle. I want nice off road capability but I want a little speed too. I have everything except the servo mount and the esc. Here she is in stock form

I thought about gettin one of those and modding it into a crawler. Doesn't look like all that much work would be needed.

They make a 4WD version that is supposed to be pretty good at crawling...

This is the 4wd version but it's not a very good crawler out of the box. It won't take much to make it a decent performer....move the battery to the front, add longer links, over the axle steering and it's not too bad.

I reversed the chassis and added mashers on bead locks.

did u see any improvements with reversing the chassis or was it just for show?

It still looks the same but now the battery is over the front axle instead of the rear axle. Before it would wheelie very easy and couldn't climb much without flipping, now it's a great climber and doesn't wheelie much.

I started on the strech. I made the links last night and set everything up today but I forgot to buy the nuts and bolts...Duhh. I did a quick mock up, this is not the body that will be used I just stuck it up there for the pic.

have you reshimmed the pinion gear yet? mine didn't hold up very long with the moab xl's on it. I went with the hardened ring and pinion since its stronger and has a one piece pinion. You can reshim the stock one to make it tighter but just make sure to use grease to check the gear lash.

Looks great Smaxxin. Seeing your Wheelie King and the AX-10 makes me really want to get a crawler again.

I noticed that the wheely king uses the same weak diffs as the nitro mt (junk IMO) they are noisy right out of the box! I plan on shimming them before I get everything finish.

I choose the wheely king because I didn't want a "crawler" but more of a capable off road basher. I wanted to keep the shocks as vertical as possible to prevent torque twist. With my current set up I'm only getting about 40 degrees of articulation but the torque twist is hardly noticeable.

IMO the AX-10 design would make a better crawler.

This thing runs great, I love the way the suspension handles. I still need to gear it down a little and move the servo over the axle. Did some wheeling last night

This truck is a blast, I'm really starting to enjoy the challenge of slow off roading.

it looks like ya done bent a shock, Smaxxin.

It's the spring that looks like that, I have 3 large spacers on that shock and the front left shock to limit the torque twist.
