Considering the wall of water that comes with these things, I don't know if a basement will do much but get you drowned. I hope you have a friend in IA to visit while it runs through.

Good luck.

This is why we dont have basements here in Florida, and the fact that you can't dig far enough down for one without hitting shell rock, I work in several different homes and I am yet to see a basement, when people ask me what I miss about Chicago, basements are on my list!

It's a monster of a storm. I couldn't sleep, woke up about 4 am here, turned on the tv and it's mostly what you will see on the news channels.

Stretch, that was some funny stuff right there... I printed up a copy to hang in the office... lol

My thoughts and prayers go out to all the people in Florida that are having to deal with this crap all over again.. Guys, be safe.. Your life is more iimportant than your belongings...

LMAO. Another great post Strech.

To all of the Flordia crew, be safe! Check in with us when you can after this last one passes through so we know your OK.

I was watching the weather channel this morning around 4am and they were talking to a reporter who was in the Nassau Bahamas area and some of the stuff they were showing was just unbelievable! They mentioned it dropped down to a Cat3 but they still stay it is looking to produce more dammage then Charley.

good luck to all..he should be knocking on your door soon, we''ll all pray that everyone will be safe...

Heres an update on where Frances was at 2:30 pm today, all I can say is HOLY poop!!!

It looks like the center of the storm is half of the size of Florida and the entire storm looks to be about three times the size of the state!
CYA's gentlemen.

Mother Nature can be a real Bizotch! Holy Crap thats gonna hurt... hope all our FLA boys are ok...

Hopefully the land mass will take the edge off of that baby before it reaches the west side of the state.

Thats what they hoped for with Charlie, but he had a mind of his own, he just kept trucking right across the state. I am in central florida, just missed the eye wall by 20 miles last time, and it looks at the moment I am in the bullseye once again.

Hey Joe, why did you move to Florida again?

Just arrived back into Orlando. Evacuated last Thursday and went to a cabin in northern Tenn up in the mountains. Place isnt as bad as when Charley hit, but I have 2" of rain in my living room. Please pray for my Mother though, as she had a large Oak tree fall into her home and destroy it. They say it will be almost a year before she can move back in.
