How fast is Fast and Furious?

If you guys watched the MAKEING OF THE MOVIE you would know the fastest the cars went in there was 30MPH..... the car's were all basicly show.. no go.... pretty pitifull if you ask me... And the supra dont run 10's neither.. it runs 11's... that was one of the cars that was actually alot of go rather then show. ill see if i can find the vid of it.

The ricer scene has already been cut in half since the movie was out. The true tuners who were out there before the movie was out will be here, but the guys who jumped on the ricer band wagon when F&F came out, will go as soon as some other fad comes out.

I also really doubt the Supra ran 11's. It was a NA (Non turbo). So it would be lucky to be sitting mid 12's.

That movie was a joke and thanks to that we get this stupid ricer fad. Yippee.

We have a lot of those fast n the furious wanna bes around here, A Honda Civic pulled along side of my a while back at the red light and starts revving his little 4 banger with a loud azz muffler, so when the light turns green he nails it and it just made a lot of noise, as soon as my truck shifted into second gear I could see him in the rear view LOL

Yeah I did that to a ricer here with my brother in laws Dakota with a 4.7 V8. Just destroyed the ricer off the line and never saw him again.

The charger was another go and show, the blower(and everything stivking out of the hood) was fake, but the chargers they used had 440's. I'm pretty sure it was 440, or 383. Wether they went fast or not, the movie was pretty good. Getta love the final race.

"This movie got so many things wrong about cars, right down to calling nitrous "NOS"!?"
-Hot Rod Magazine

NO, NOS is an actual company. it stands for Nitrous Oxide Systems.

I saw the charger at the Minneapolis auto show and there wasnothing fake on it. It was actually a drag car and was rented for the movie. The guy who owns it lives in Georgia and still races it I guess. It was a nice car.The orange Supra was there and also the green Eclipse.. The eclipse and the supra are a joke.. there nothing under the hood besides a stock motor.. pretty sad.

I see the yellow (ideal trucking) ford F-150 from the second movie everyday across the street from my office.....that is definately all go and no show.......the second movie was filmed here in miami...all those ricer kids came out to get in the movie onthat crap.....I hate how since that movie came out every kid w/ a civic thinks it's a hot rod, so they put a crappy APC muffler on and just make ungodly ammounts of noise...then to make it "better" they buy 200 bucks worth of audiovox stereo gear and attempt to make it "boom" like a friggin hip hop concert......I miss my escort sometimes....I loved seeing kids laugh at my poop box until it pulled low 13s on there ass in a street legal car w/o even trying.....

thats fast and furious lmfao, more like slow and poopy. I was on the intersate last week doing 65, a civic came up next to my tocoma and down shifted, so I droped it in 3rd and freggen blew his doors off, just walked the dog on him. My truck is way faster than that green piece of junk on that vid, that was more like a joke watching that. dalm sure not fast and furious.

Zandor,

I hate to tell you this, but, If god himself looked me in the eye and said "Give me that car, or you are going to hell",
well,,I guess I'll see a few old buddies from the early years in all those flames in the experience.

This Charger has found it's final owner as long as I'm alive. I've put too much sweat and blood into it for it to not be a part of me.

Jeep, thats a great looking Charger. It doesn't get any better than good ole American muscle!

I'm just happy to be the current owner, I thank Mopar for the design and building ;)
And I agree, American Muscle will be here still,,long after the ricers fade away.

I left this link on another post about american muscle burnouts:

It gives me chill bumps,,lmao :)

I have a question for you guys do you think that the new 2005 or 2006 charger is american muscle? what about the new chevy cobalt? or that saturan ion redline? Or would you guys consider those little 4 bangs a tuner car?

The eclipse was probably built for the movie, it wasn't even a turbo.

The orange supra on the other hand, it actually had a bunch of go, it was a show car, but craig lieberman (sp?) was the one who owned it and it had somewhere around 650hp. With an auto tranny i'm sure it would run a high 10, but since it probably had a 6 speed, probably ran somewhere around high 11 low 12. They had a for sale thing posted on suprastore.com and I think the car sold for somewhere around $120k immediately after fast and furious came out.

Now, 2 fast 2 furious, all those cars were showcars, not a bit of go in them. There was some magazine test which tested the performance, and they were no better than stock. Even the little see through thing on the hoods to see the engine, that was just a big ass sticker.

If it doesn't have 8 cylinders I don't consider it a muscle car. If you have ever been behind the wheel of a frame twisting torque monster you know what I mean.

The clock showed 18 seconds....but you all probaly got bored long before that. Just to give you a small idea how slow that is...my wife's 04' Z71 Tahoe runs 16.8 in the quater :) Anyways, I don't mind imports as long as they actually make the cars run fast instead of making them look fast. Well I was going to post a streetfire vid but couldn't find it. It's where they interview a guy who riced out his stang...it will have you rolling, exspecialy if you know your cars bith demestic and import.

Here is a few off topic vids

This first one has a scooter handing an LS1 his butt

This second one his one us Harley guys did. My truck is pretty much the last picture.

Ditto,
A real muscle car has seating room for at least six people and some belongings, not including the huge trunk, and a power plant that easily
torques the entire chassis without a groan, and gets no more than about 3 mpg under wide-ass-open throttle, and commands respect while sitting still.

just my personal opinion of a true muscle car

I think my moms sienna can even pull 16.8 in the quarter. Which is sad, but I hate my dad and his friend just because they had the fastest cars at their high school, with another guy.

My dad had a candy apple red 1969 mach 1 mustang, his friend had a blue 68 gt500kr (best year for gt500 imho, none of that eleanor crap), and a another guy had a 68 or 69 z28 camaro. But what kills me is my dad sold his car for practically nothing, and his friend trades his gt500 for air conditioning. If only they kept them, but i still have a 1927 chevy sedan with 2 flathead 4 bangers (ones a spare), sitting in a back yard waiting to be cleaned up.

I hate it how every kid (I'm 19 but don't apply  ) with a civic or whatever puts a muffler that makes it sound like a go kart or dirt bike, then puts a gigantic wing that looks like crap and doesn't even fit the car and think that they're all race car drivers.

My Uncle's 68 SS chevelle only has room for 5, does it not qualify now? Not every car had a front bench, although I guess someone could double up on a seat, or if you find them annoying put them in the trunk(as long as you remember to let them out).
