How do YOU search E-Bay?

If it is rc related I will type in the vehicle, like Mugen MBX5T or just MBX5T (then I report all the ones that come up saying like MBX5T or NOT MBX5T) then I search. I rarely search by seller. If I buy something or win an auction and the seller has a store I will search before finalizing my purchase.

I have a shortcut on my desktop that takes me right to "toys and hobbies>radio control" and its set to sort by highest price. I like highest price because if you are looking for a car, you wont have to search through a bunch of parts.

I search by Keyword in title and description in cat Radio Controlled. I also go to advanced search and check the box for completed items only to see what the part I'm looking for has sold for in the past. I also sometimes cross-reference the part I'm looking for on Amazon. I have on a few occasions found parts for less on Amazon and you can get free shipping sometimes.

Do you type in a part number? rarely
Do you look at a category? even more rarely
Do you go directly to a favorite seller? never
Do you search on a a single key word? search for keywords 99.9% of the time.
If more then one seller has a product what makes you buy from one over another? Price, Shipping Cost, Feedback

Your info is great guys thanks for the help.

Here is another question.

How do you decide if your going to use the buy now button or hang for an auction to play out?

How do you decide if your going to use the buy now button or hang for an auction to play out? Depends on two things - one how bad do I need it (now or can it wait) and two, price of course.

On smaller items I usually look for the best BIN price, if it's a higher priced item I'll compair the BIN price to the average end price on other auctions, if auctions are ending cheaper I'll wait.

keywords then model number after i find it then i look to see if the seller has anything else i could use

yeah, i always search what the avg completed price was for other similar listings. But alot of the time I'm afraid to bid because other people bring the price up way too much for no reason like with 5 days left :wtf: I use auction sniper when i REALLY want that item lol

I use buy-it-now whenever possible, to avoid being sniped.

Of course, I research prices, value, etc, and compare it between active auctions before I hit that button.

Sometimes you can get deals, sometimes you don't.

I always search by Keyword... if its a seller that has other interesting items to sell I will usually check there store out..... as far as buy it now... i also look to see what the item usually ends at... if I see a buy it now cheaper then that I will buy it that way... or if its at a fair buy it now and I want the item quickly I will also use buy it now....

Note: A lot of eBay sellers will sell an item at a lower price with higher shipping... that way they have to pay ebay less on the final price of the auction.... but NCnitro is right... you are only covered on the price of the item not the shipping...
