How do I discharge my hump pack properly?

You'll want to charge at 6 volts or 5 cells on NiMH.

So so u basically charge at whatever the packs Volts are? Example, my lead acid battery is 12v, so charge at 12v, and it says 7ah, which I don't know what 7ah is.

I've never used my pro charger to charge 5 cell nimh, but I think it knows what voltage to use when you hook it up.

That's correct. You charge it at the rated voltage - 6 volts at 6 volts, 12 volts at 12 volts, etc. The 7 ah is the capacity. That is how much current it can put out for an hour.

Personally, I charge all my stuff at .5A. They seem to hold the charge longer that way. Then again, the only sub-c pack I have is my baja receiver pack. The rest are 2250-2650mah NiMH AA's or 1400-1600mah 2/3A (hump/flat type receiver packs).

When I'm in a hurry, I'll bump my charger up to 1A.

Thx dude. I'm Figuring out this venom charger, seems it stops charge at 120 mins, I dunno if that's the max it can go or if I can set it to whatever. I was charging my bump start battery and it shut down before the battery was full because it was goin over the 120 min mark. Gonna play with it abit

Okay not to thread jack but... If I have a 2s 5500mAh lipo, is it the same basic principle of discharge, 5.5a? How do I know when I need to discharge packs? after each use or if I am not going to be using them for a week or 2 or 3? Thanks

If you look online the manual says how to use it. I have the same charger that I upgraded from a duratrax piranah and this thing rocks. If you go into battery setup or settings you can change the temp,charge time limit and everything else. I always discharge my batteries eventhough they're pretty dead. I got mine from tower for 125 new.

I think you only want to discharge at about 2 or less. My venom pro-charger only lets me discharge at 1 with my 5000 mah 3s packs. Be careful as they will drop rapidly when they get down there. I have to watch mine carefully to avoid discharging too much. For storage you want them about half way charged.
