I just bought a new pack for my receiver and want to know how to discharge it properly. The charger I use is Dynamite prophet plus. I want my battery to last a long time and get the most out of it. I charge it at 1amp. I know nothing about discharging it. Any help is appreciated!!

I would suggest both charging and discharging the battery at its rated capacity, for example if it's a 1200 mAH battery you should charge and discharge it 1200 mA or 1.2 amps. Doing this will not harm the battery.

What about charge-in at 4amps?

will that hurt anything? the hump pack or the ez start wand batteries?

I got the prophet sport charger and it does 1 2 or 4 amps...

It's a 5 cell 2500mah pack. My question is how do I actually discharge it?? If I plug in a battery to the charger, without the actual charger plugged into the wall, it gets power and the light flashes. Does this mean I hit the charge button and it will discharge it? Remember this is with the charger unplugged from the wall outlet.

The charger will need an actual discharge cycle on it. I don't remember having one on my Prophet. You can find external dischargers which use either large resistors or light bulbs at some hobby shops. You might want to look at a better charger for the future if you can afford.

As far as charging goes, charge it at 2 amps.

Thanks! Really? 2 apms? i always thought, lower the beter. Whats a good charger to go with? I bought this one a few years ago.

2 amps would be just fine for a nimh battery with that many mah. You don't really need to discharge it at all. Charging at 1 amp will help it last a wee bit longer, and the occasional discharge won't hurt, but it's really not necessary.

I upgraded to the Venom Procharger Plus. It charges everything and discharges NiMH/NiCD as well as balancing LiPo/LiFE cells.

Found a venom pro charger for $80 locally. Goin to pick it up later on today!

If it looks mint, is less than a year old, has all the pieces, and can be seen working it's worth about 75. I'd come at him with 50-60 bucks and work from there.....depending on all of the above.

Picked it up today. Offered $50, then $60, no go, had to do it for $80. But it came with everything, and its in working cond, only used a few times I'm told. Seems like a nice little charger, now i can charge eneything on one unit, instead of 4 others.:)

How many volts do I charge a 2500mah hump pack at? I don't know much about all this battery charging stuff.
