Does anyone have any experience with the hot bodies lightning series? Are they competitve with modern truggies like the Jammin'? Anything I should know about them? Thanks.

Well, IMO, no. I owned an LSP-R and hated it. Something broke on it every time out, even with doing all the mods and upgrades. You'll find a lot of used one's floating around now because they are a dated design. I run a Jammin' now and couldn't be happier, unless someone wanted to buy me a new Mugen MBX5T Prospec to try out.

My lsp rocks, it has a few king headz parts and it made everyone at the Joliet pro series race take notice of it. I missed the tripple, went off to the right and tagged a steel rod used to hold the yellow barriers down. Smacked it hard, everyone went, OOOO. Well, 150 plus people anyhow.
I still finished my qualifying round in first, it didnt even scratch it. I though for sure I busted something, but didnt.
They are a great learners truggy for sure, and solid as a rock. Its just not as nimble in the turns as some of the other truggies.
Ebay has tons of them, I got mine with a ofna starter box, 2 OS .21 rgs, fatuba radio, tons of extra clutch shims and shoes, 2 bodies and a fare set of tires all for 400 bucks.
With the ninja .21 in it, its a blast.

i have one of the hot bodies lighting staduim 1/8 scale i think they are worth there money because the speed u get from them is faster than me little road car "hpi 3evo" and if you tune it propley then the acclation and top speed is fast.

Apples to oranges comparison. Put the road car on an offroad track and see what you get, then put your LSP on an on-road track.

I had an LSP put every mod imaginable on it because i was in love with it i refused to get rid of it but after getting spanked week in and week out i broke down and got a STR. I wish i had done it sooner i started being competitive and placing MUCH higher. If you opt for a STR dont get the US kit get the kit one.jmo

It seems to be setup/design a little better 3 actual diffs, dual brakes. CRT.5 will be another car in my pit garage.

i have a lightning stadium RR and its ace. I find it competes quite well with the cars at my local track (and there's even a losi 8ight there) the only trouble i had was the con rod but that was because the car was second hand and the bloke who i bought it from broke the con rod.
Definitly worth it if you pick one up from ebay for about £150 ($300)

Yep Jet hoping it takes off. Mine is on order. I pick up servos Monday. Wish I could pre order some springs and pistons and pivot blocks. To me 1/8 scale is not indoor friendly and at our track that fact HAS affected gas truck attendance. This might just be the new indoor class. 1/8 scale is with out a doubt awsome for outdoor, I have one but wont run it indoors during cold.
