I just found a small pinhole in the boot that covers the outside of the throttle slide on my .21 Nova Rossi motor that is in my T-Maxx. Will this cause any problems? Will the motor pull in air through the boot and cause an overly lean condition when at WOT? Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question......just trying to get some more info.

Thanks

We all started out knowing nothing until we asked are someone told us.

There are seals inside the carb to prevent air leaks. The rubber boot is a dust cover, the hole won't cause a lean condition but it can let dirt get on the slide which will eat at the seals. I have used a small amount of shoe goo to repair the boot until I had a chance to replace it.

BTW head to the introduce yourself page and tell us who you are.

Thanks for the info. I thought there should be some seals in there, but I thought I had better ask. I didn't want to burn the motor up just because I didn't replace a cheap rubber boot.

Thanks again!

and little cheap peices like that are usually what make us have to buy new mills. whether it be rc or an actuall car.

I had the same problem with my Axial .32, but never really noticed anything different.
