Hobbywing XR8 xerun g3 pro Tuning with controller

Recently got back into RC cars now that my sons almost 7. finished building up a RC8T4E. I have a Hobbywing XR8 xerun pro g3 esc and motor. I went thru the set up as i did with my xr10 setting the neutral as well as the forward and brake ( though i didnt get a beep with the last two just a green light flash)

Then i plugged in my older hobbywing proffesional multifunction LCD box. I upgraded to the current firmware.

If i plug it into just the esc and press the button it stays on Connecting to esc

if i plug it into the PC it stays on connecting to PC

If i plug it into the esc and pc it stays on connecting to pc and when esc is selected in the software the esc is never recognized nor does it have the 5-6 pop down icons for the different options. This with car powered on. I've disconnected the throttle control from the receiver as well.

I have the new G2 version of the controller coming today. hope thats it but perhaps I'm missing something.

Do you have correct polarity on the ESC and Programmer?

If it's backwards, the signal will be ground (no signal)

yes sir ended up buying the bluetooth oct model and works like a charm
