Hey guys need some help

So what about the guy makinng the single speed?

What do you mean? Who is he? Not sure I can say... I've never bought anything from him, although, I would more than likely buy his progressively dampened LST shock inserts if he ever makes them... I've only read about his stuff and discussed things in threads of his. It's from a completely different forum.

Sorry Ollds I wasn't try to be a punk I was just wondering. Taz I am just fixing my shaft and then taking it out to the track and go from there. I want to muggy out my rig but first I am going to see if I can keep it on the track. oh yhea the blue bodies that come on them stock and yellow springs.

That's cool, let me know how it works !:D That's what I'm running on mine too, except for the blue aluminum shock caps and 100wt shock oil. I will PM you some info that I got from my buddy donxavier on youtube on muggifying your truck.;)
BTW, how's that O'Donnell MT glow plug that I sent you ?

and 100wt shock oil.
How in the heck are you running that high of oil? I tried losi 80 in mine and it would just bounce. The shocks would hydrolock on me. Are you using some different disks?

I think I ended up running 45 weight with my RC Raven springs. Fairly plush and doesn't bottom out too hard with 6-7 feet of air under it.

I'm running it with no problems whatsoever. NO, I'm not using differant disks at all, I'm just running straight stock LST2 shocks w/blue aluminum caps, Trinity 100wt shock oil and Losi 7.4 springs. I just filled the shock like your supposed to and then I bled them like your supposed too, through the little hole on the cap, and I haven't had any problems since.....in fact they're GREAT, I love 'em.....they handle awesome !

I actually wanted a set of the RC Raven springs at one time and kinda still do, just to try them out and see how they work.:D

I was reading the manual and they say 30wt in the shocks so I got that. So thats to light?

So what is the trick to these? I done spilt a lot on my new carpet. Can I get a quick how to? I feel like a newbe I guess I am at these shocks with the little screw on there. :) Duh

I tried 30, 100, 60, 45 with RC ravens in that order.

30 was way too light, rebound city on big air landings. It was stock oil, figured I'd give it a shot.
After reading online about guys using 100, I tried it, made my truck bounce by not letting the shocks compress fast enough, appeared to hydrolock.
Dropped down to 60, still a bit heavy with slow rebound.
Dropped to 45. Worked really well with 45 and that's what I'm still running. Handles decent air and is fairly quick action (compression/extension) on the lighter stuff so it isn't all bouncy.

My Steps to replace fluid:
1) The caps screw off.
2) empty by dumping
3) clean out residue with paper towel
4) fill with oil, a bit below flush/full
5) let bubbles rise to the top
6) slowly push shock shaft in then slowly pull back out to get out any more air under the disk.
7) screw cap on
8) back out bleeder screw in the shock cap
9) push shock shaft in and hold while putting bleeder screw back in
10) clean hands, smoke cig, prepare for the next one.

Repeat on remaining 3 shocks. Requires almost 2 bottles of oil to do all 4 I believe... been a while, but I don't think one comes close to topping off all 4 shocks from empty.

;)

I do not smoke :D if I did I really couldnt afford the hobby. I thank you and for now I have to use the 30.I just didnt figure on the bleeder screw. But thanks for the info oh and trying to get me to start smoking.

I wonder if trinity runs lighter than losi. Mine just would hydrolock and bounce with 100 in it.

Yeah, I don't know, I'm not sure. I know it seemed a little thick, but also runny at the same time if you know what I mean.;):D

OLds97_lss is pretty right on, I just wanted to ad my :2cents: as well.:D
I saved all my old shock oil by emptying it into a plastic water bottle, just in case I need it for extra.;) I then wiped them out like Olds said, after I took the caps off to empty them.:hehe: I first made sure the shock shaft was all the way down before I took the cap off, then as I emtied the shock I pushed the shaft up all the way to help get al the oil out. After all that was done, I once again made sure the shaft was all the way out as I filled the shock to the very top.;) I then replaced the cap, then took the bleeder screw all the way out, then pushed the shaft all the up until it was done 'bleeding' and then I replaced the screw. I then made sure that the shock shaft moved up and no problem and did not 'stick'...Same to other 3...REPLACE...DONE ! - p.s. : DON'T LOOSE THE LITTLE PLASTIC WASHER !!!!!!!!!!
BTW, here ya go.....page 10(LST2 manual).

1 bottle should be plenty to do all 4. That is why you should save your old shock oil, to add any to it if necessary.:D

I do not smoke ! & Trying to get me to start smoking.

Good for you, I don't either ! & DON'T START ! ;):D:hehe:

Man, this rig is so easy to work on but it is so rugged and powerful. I got the shocks bled and everything. It took a while because I get stocked about getting a nut started that I would forget some thing else. It had different oil in there before but I will fix that later. It took me about 45 minutes a shock. I no that sounds terriable but I was happy just to be able to do it :) Now its time to do my center skid tonight or in the morning this is it
