thanks in advance

lozz:)

Heres the roto start I would go with if I were you. I dont have any knowledge of this truck and I actually havent heard about it until now but I looked it up on youtube the the roto starters they used looked idetical to this and have the same end piece. I order from hobby people all the time, theyre very trustworthy, and have a great customer service. I hope this helps. :D

anymore help on tips, maybe tuning the pipe or anything that could be a problem with not starting (e.g too rich), glow plugs and starts are all checked and glowin i use 2 to try and start and the 1000rpm drill should be enough

i really wanna drive the thing its drivin me nuts (terrible pun i know):)

haha Yeah I know the feeling when I got my first nitro 5 years ago I wasn't allowed to start it until someone else finished reading the manual took them 2 days..... but anyway from looking at that link I'm guessing you may be from Australia by looking at the price of the starter? reason I ask is because hobbypeople only ships to the U.S. but it looks close to the HPI starter so I would probably go with whatever is cheaper. But also going on the safer side and getting what is recommended may be a better idea.

I could give you tips on tuning but I'm not too sue what kind of tips your looking for. But with your example I can answer by if it is flooding every time it starts, or running a temp under 200 degrees F that you need to lean it out. Another tip from me is to get a temp gauge if you dont already have one. They make tuning a lot easier and keep your temps around 200-220 degrees F. Also make sure to have spar parts like glow plugs, and spur gears. I would also invest on a failsafe if it doesn't come with one because if your batteries die it will drive straight in whatever direction at wide open throttle. Happended to my T-Maxx almost flew into the river but luckily flipped right before the river. I also like fuel filters just incase some dust gets in the tank. Also make sure to do regular maintenance like cleaning the air filter and replacing the air filter oil after every hour of run time, and I encourage using after run oil every time you finish driving it. Great way to keep compression in your engine and making it last longer. Sorry I typed so much I might have gotten a little too carried away haha.

mate no worries it all helps i like to get as much info as possible, I'm from uk btw lol and I've now checked idle screw is open 0.5 mm in neutral, the high speed mixture screw is opened one turn less (3 full turns from closed) and I'm not to sure about the low screw yet dont wanna touch it till engine is on so i can test temps make sure it not too lean honestly keep typin if u feel u know alot it would help me greatly

Anyone else want to comment u are more than welcome

thanks again :p:

No need to bump when you are already at the top of the page.

A drill is more than enough to start your engine, even at a lower rpm. All it takes is a good compression stroke to get it started if you have a good tune. Is it priming? If not, hold your finger over the stinger while turning it over. Once you hear it start to catch, remove your finger. If you flood it, tip it to run any unburnt fuel to the front of the exhaust, then tip it out of the hole. Then loosen the glow plug and turn it over for a second. Tighten it and try again.

ok thank will try that 2moro as its jus started to rain a bit on that note can these babys run in rain or is it not advised?

I would suggest against it. If you get water in your engine, you can wreck it in a hurry.

might help

WAYHAY she started all noob honesty it was primed right lol couldnt hear it catchin, problem is now every time i take glostarts off she cuts out even wit the thr trm up a bit is the idle to slow?? low end to lean? high end too rich?? I'm jus guessin tbh so any help will be much appreciated!!

thanks in advance

You're taking the heat away when you pull the glow warmer off. First try warming up the engine with a heat gun or hair dryer, then when you get it started, turn the throttle trim up just a hair so it kicks up the idle until it warms up. Once you have a good tune, you can set the idle screw a tad higher so that it will idle when it's cold.

I run with the throttle trim turned up for awhile until the engine gets nice and warmed up. basically once i here it idling too high I start turning the trim back down. if it still wont idle after that then I would turn the idle screw up tad untill it does.
