Hey guys so i Just got a new Nitro Redcat s30 Valcano for christmas and i started breaking it in today and then i finished my first step of breaking it in... i let it cool down and when i went to pull start it, it was a very rough pull and wouldnt start but when i took the glo plug out it pulled fine... what should i do ?!?!?!?!?!:(:\

Mine does same thing, breaks pullstart after pullstart.
My advice is throw it in trash can. I bought one as a beginner fpr my stepson.
good truck when it starts and that is very rare. Pullstart spring breaks everytime, they are inferior and redcat will not return emails and hangsup on me when I call.

I am parting it out on ebay and taking a loss.
It has way to much compression, bends the glow plug everytime.
It has started 2 tumes in a week other 30 attempts the pullstary spring would break where it is so brittle.

Try preheating it with a hair dryer or heat gun. This will allow it to turn over and start much easier, it also lessens the stress put on your engine.

What was said above. U can also back the glow plug off a bit to relieve compression pressure then when u get it started tighten it back up. This is normal when breaking in a engine. After break in it should be fine

Nitro's and cold don't mix well... personally, I won't break an engine in when it's below 50F outside and even then, I'll wrap the head with something unless it's 75+ out just help keep temps up.

Whenever breaking in, it's best to heat the engine to above 150F. Also, loosening the glow plug 1/4 turn helps release some compression. Once it starts, you tighten the plug up again before running it.

You can try and do what you like, but from personal experience, engines broken in in the winter tend to not hold their pinch as long as engines broken in when it's above 50F or so. The cold keeps them too cold and they don't expand properly enough which causes premature wear on the piston.

I have summer engines and winter engines. My winter engines are basically tired summer engines that are past their prime. Really, I just run my 5B or a nitro rig with an engine I just don't care about.

Not sure dad got it for me haha... but the s30 valcano is awesome

I think they offer a mail in rebate for some Asprin, but it takes 2-4 weeks to receive them.:D
