I have an xxtra receiver the Instructions say no more than 6 V or are you fry it the receiver battery pack I have put out 6.5 V is that OK

6 volts is a nominal charged. A charged 5 cell battery can be 7.5 volts on charge which is 6 volts nominal charge for rx packs. Don't use 2s

You can run 4-5 cell battery packs with the receiver you have. I use Tenergy 2600 5 cell NIMH AA batteries for most of my rc.

Just ran Into my next problem steering servo won’t turn those tires I’ve tried another servo out of an old Traxxas that I had it won’t turn them either

Did you set the channel numbers before you turned on the receiver and radio? If you don't set the receiver correctly nothing will work.

I just picked up an airtronics MX-3 for now it was like 20 bucks. It came with an airtronics 75mhs radio but it died on me before I got to run it.

That's what I used with mine as well. You sure your using the correct port on the receiver for steering?
The steering works fine when I lift the front off the ground. With the car sitting on the ground it won’t turn the wheels back and forth

I tried two different ones one is an airtronics #94258 the other one I tried was for my traxxas slash but they won’t turn the tires
